There’s people who get upset when 9/11, a tragic terrorist attack, is made fun of.
I don’t think they understand why we do that, so I’d like to explain.
Beyond just being a tragic event, this is a point in America’s political landscape that changed and caused quite a lot of death for people caught up in bullshit wars for decades, hate crimes against Muslims, the entire modern day American mindset of the Middle East in general (minus Israel, which is instead an extension of the US in many ways). This event is used to excuse evil, rather than condemn it, and ignores what actually caused the event in the first place.
You should not be just mad at people making fun of 9/11. You should be mad at people who use this event to gain brownie points with the public so they can kill more kids in a country across the ocean. You should be mad that they use the brutal deaths of many people and the trauma that came afterward as a tool to further their own elections and ideas.
People get mad at other tragic events used for political gain, but never have I heard them get upset when a president decides to start a lucrative war with some country of brown people under the guise of preventing 9/11 2:electric boogaloo. Stop talking about how sad 9/11 is and how mad you are zoomers are being disrespectful about it, instead yell at the government’s,political figures who excuse blood with blood.
That’s not say you can’t be mad at people making fun of 9/11, your feelings happen no matter what, but your anger is misdirected if that’s your only problem with the topic of 9/11. Stop being stupid about it. Yell at political figures who deserve it more than the random dude online who reposted a meme.
#I am so angry about this omg#I don’t care what the world was like before one of the few foreign attacks on modern US soil#I’ve only seen what came after it#and nothing I’ve seen could be excused by any events#no matter how many times they show elementary kids the raw footage#or go into detail about depressed rescue dogs and people jumping#you let people go to war to spill their own and other innocent people’s blood for decades#for fucking nothing#you should be mad at this more than anything else

✰ dating lee mark.
a companion for life.
dating mark comes with an unspoken loyalty towards you. mark would root for you no matter, even if you aren’t aware that he is. he’d do everything in his capacity to make sure that life goes your way, because mark wants to see you thrive and be happy. whether it be opportunities or any other events in your life, mark would attempt to help you out in whatever way he can. doing research on work fields that you’re interested in during his free time and coincidentally bringing up how there is a job near your place that you could apply for. or, you could complain to mark on the phone how it had started being burdensome to get up in the mornings and prepare your stuff, and wake up the next day to a small note and a lunch box on your kitchen counter that mark had placed there for you, encouraging words written on them. if no one is on your side, you know that at least mark is.
attempting a new lifestyle (just for you).
mark is someone who has a set routine in life, a schedule that he follows daily. he’s a person who knows what he does and doesn’t like, but with you, he doesn’t think a little change can hurt. mark would rarely have the time to go out and enjoy the outside world. you on the other hand, love to explore, which is how mark finds himself getting dragged by the hand as you show him your favourite places. mark, who is scared of heights, but would let you lead him to the top of a building because you like the view up there. he knows he doesn’t enjoy the taste of ketchup, yet he’d keep quiet and let you feed him the french fries drizzled in it. mark who’s world revolves around his work and work ethic doesn’t think he’d mind making space for your world in his own.
nonchalant jealousy.
anyone can point out when mark is jealous. it would start with prolonged stares towards you, a hidden confusion in his eyes as he flashes you a small smile from across the room. walking over towards you before interrupting whatever conversation you were having with the person across you. inching closely towards you, before draping an arm around you shoulder, introducing himself towards the stranger. tugging you away with an excuse along the words of ‘having to show you something’. a nervous laughter as he’d ask you “is that your friend? i’ve never seen him.” by now it’s hard for you to hold back your laughter and you’d have to assure mark that nothing was going on. you can hear the sigh of relief under his breath before another more playful chuckle leaves him. yes, mark was jealous, he’d never admit it though.
how he asked you out.
mark most likely wouldn’t even realise at first that he is crushing on you, only when one of his friends points out how he is not-so-subtly glancing at you every minute with the suggestion that perhaps he might have a thing for you, would it click in his head that “damn, i do have a crush on you”. mark would try to impress you a lot and flatter you without directly telling you that he likes you. by doing so, he’d observe your reactions and slowly build up the courage to ask you out on a date. he’d take you out to the fanciest restaurant he could find and treat you with more gifts afterwards, whatever your eyes land on, he’d immediately ask if you wanted it. the date would end with him driving you back home, asking you if you enjoyed the date. he’d confess right then and there that he’d love to go on a second date if you’d like it too. fortunately for him, you’re crushing on him just as much as he is on you!
kisses.
kissing mark feels like having your breath taken away from you as his kisses always have an underlying passion to it. he’d cave in softly at first, testing the waters and getting the both of you comfortable. his hand would rest under your chin as he’d tug you to himself. the kiss grows more passionate after a while, proximity closing between you two. you’d think the room was burning with the warmth that travels through your body as mark deepens the kiss, his arms around your body by now pressing you against him. his kisses taste like sweet love and desperate lust. you’d think its because mark hasn’t seen you for a while, but instead its because he just can’t help himself when it comes to you. mark’s love for you shows through the heated kiss shared between you two that feels like it lasts the whole night, and quite frankly, neither of would want the intimate moment to end anytime soon.

WARNINGS: Drugs/drug use, liiitle peer pressure, touchy rafe, best friends brother.
Summary: You finally go to a party with Sarah but when you go to the bathroom you find Rafe.
1.5k words
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Sarah has to be the sweetest person I know. She always ensures I’m involved in her family events knowing I don't have a family. She’s my only friend sure but I never needed more. Usually when she begs me to come with her to a party I refuse and that's the end. But this time I don't think she’ll let it go.
“You can't bail on me this time,” she says desperately. “Oh, actually I can. There's no way I'm going. It's gonna be kook central.” I say right back to her with my hands on my hips. She looks at me with mischievous eyes and crosses her arms, “You may as well be one sweetcheeks”. Immediately I looked at her like she was crazy, “Oh yeah you're so right except somethings missing… hm I wonder what it is. Oh that's right MONEY”.
She rolls her eyes but lets out a small laugh, “You know what I mean, plus money isn't everything you know”. “I had no idea my best friend was a profound philosopher,” I say sarcastically. I let my arms drop beside me and let out a long dragged-out sigh. “You know what, this one time Sarah-” before I could finish she let out an excited scream and gave me a bone-crushing hug. “I knew you couldn't resist me for too long,” she says as she wiggles her brows. I simply chuckle and you puff out “Yeah yeah let's get this over with”
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
I didn't have lots of clothes and what I did have wasn't necessarily for partying. So Sarah gave me something to wear for the night. It wasn't my style and more revealing than I’m used to but it will do. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if I stuck beside Sarah like a love-struck puppy.
When we got there the music was so loud I could feel its frequency in the air it smells. The amount of sweaty bodies was overwhelming and it was obvious that this was a kook party. Beside me, Sarah gleamed with excitement but my face showed clear uneasiness. “C'mon I promise this will be fun!” she has to yell so I can hear her. She takes my hand and gets herself and I a drink before meeting up with some of her friends.
Before we get to them I tell her I needed to use the bathroom. It was more of an excuse to regroup myself. The house was huge and every corner was filled with rich snobs. Sarah was rich too but she's not one to flaunt it. Bumping against bodies and bodies I was able to find what might be a bathroom door.
I reached for the door and turned the nob, it wasn't locked so it should be clear to enter. When I opened the door, it was just my luck, someone was in there hunched over the vanity sniffing what I can only assume is coke. Noticing me he straightens his posture and turns his body to me, sniffing and rubbing the excess in his nose. It comes down to me who this is, it's Sarah's brother Rafe.
“Oh-sorry, I just- the door wasn't locked so…” I stammered. “No no, it's okay… you’re uh Sarah's friend right?” he says sporadically. Now that I can see him, his pupils are blown out. He’s obviously high. “Y-yeah I am” I knew who Rafe was obviously and since I spent some time at Sarah's place I would see him every now and then but we’ve never talked.
There was some awkward silence before he asked “You wanna… try some?”, referring to the white powder. I’ve never taken any drugs before even when Sarah offered to share her joint you passed up on it. “I think I'm good actually” I reply, nervously chuckling. “It’ll feel really good I swear/Loosen up, I'm offering. I-I don’t think Ive ever seen you at parties with Sarah. ” he rambles a bit. “Yeah, parties aren't my forte…” I say back while trying my hardest to not look at him in the eye.
Should I? I mean Ive got nothing to lose and I need to try to have fun at least. “I'm not gonna force you to do anything you don't wanna okay?” he says as he grins. “Uhm maybe a little bit” I reply a little unsure and scared. I'm still in at the entrance to the bathroom and he pulled me into the room making sure to lock the door this time.
Before I knew it his body was right in front of mine with his index finger holding a small bump of the substance. The proximity makes my heart rate rise a little bit. “Sniff” he directed simply but he looked at me with curiosity. He wants to see if I’ll actually do it, he’s almost daring me when he tilts his head to the side slightly. His blue irises are much smaller than his pupils and I could feel the heat surrounding his body.
I look at his finger and back up at him. He’s still grinning and somehow it got wider. Before I could hesitate any longer I breathed it in quickly. “Atta girl” he praised. Immediately I noticed the taste growing in the back of my throat, bitter. With the small dust of remains he rubs it into his gums. He leans on the vanity crossing his arms when he asks me “How does it feel… good right?”. He looks at me all smug like using the distance to look at me entirely.
It feels… euphoric and like ive drank 5 cups of coffee. My body’s getting warm. “I feel like my brain is having an orgasm,” I say but it feels like it's out of my control, the sudden energy talking for me. My eyes are fixated on the wall behind him. He chuckles, “Are you good?” “Yeah, yeah, yeah I'm great actually” I swiftly say, my attention going back to him.
“You know you're pretty hot for a pogue” he walks back over to me. I don't know how to respond in this moment. “Is that supposed to be a compliment?”, I was genuinely confused. Was he trying to flirt with me?
“I don't know is it?” he smirks, that doesn't answer my question but he puts his hands on my waist. That certainly wasn't nothing. I probably wouldn't know what to say if it weren't for the coke I just took. The sudden rush of confidence made it easy. “It was more like a backhanded compliment…” I reply plainly, shaky breaths leaving me. The mix of the coke and his warm hands on me has my heart beating out of my chest.
“The cokes getting to you, huh…” he whispers low in my ear, chuckling. His hands slide lower on my waist. I paused, unsure of what to do. Honestly, I don't have much experience around guys other than the guy Sarah set me up in high school for a dance.
When he moved his face back, his eyes flickered to my parted lips. One of his hands left my hip to grab my jaw gently. “Do you think Sarah would mind” he mutters with an engrossed expression on his face.
Before I could reply loud bangs came from the door. “Are you okay in there?!”, it was Sarah, my breath stopped. “I'm starting to get worried!” she yelled. I looked at Rafe alarmed, silently asking him for help. What would Sarah think if she found me like this with her brother?.“Tell her you’ll be out soon” he rushed in a low voice.
“D-dont worry I’ll be out soon!” I yelled back nervously. “Is there a boy in there with you?!” she replied. “…Whaaaat? No”, well that sounded believable. “You better be in there with a boy, get it onnn!” I hear her laugh and walk away. I let out a deep breath. If only she knew what boy she was talking about.
Rafe still had a grip on my jaw and a hand on my hip. My heart was beating so loud I was sure he could hear and feel it. “I-I gotta go” I excuse myself and get out as fast as I can, leaving Rafe in the bathroom. I try to catch up to Sarah knowing she couldn't have gone far. Finally, I get to her “Sarah!” I exclaimed. She turned to me “You better tell me something was going on in that bathroom miss” she playfully teased but my face got warm and pink slightly embarrassed. Nothing really did happen I guess. When she looks at me straight on, her eyes squint as she analyzes something.
“Shit are you high?!?” she gasps. My eyes are probably blown out, “…A little”, you shrug unsure of what else to say.“Wooow you come to one party and suddenly you become a drug addict. Where's the sweet innocent girl I knew” she says pretending to cry. I rolled my eyes with a smile “Oh shut it, Sarah”. We both laugh and she takes my hand to bring me to her friends.
I'm not sure what happened in that bathroom but I don't think I could ever look at Rafe the same.
Note: I'm trying to get better at writing. Accepting constructive criticism 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Sneaking Off
Sirius Black x fem!Reader
Note: coming up next will be this James request I just got so be on the lookout for that :)
Summary: Pureblood parties suck a little less with someone fun to spend the time with.
Warnings: underage drinking, swearing, the likes
Word Count: 2266
Pureblood parties were intensely boring. The music was dull and far too old for your liking, the conversations were all held between adults who had nothing better to talk about than politics though they each had the worst opinions, and to make it even worse, the too-tight pantyhose your mother had stuffed you in wrapped around your stomach in a way that left you aching, your shoes, a pair of glossy Mary Jane’s, rubbed at your ankles and toes, leaving them raw and bloody, and the burgundy dress you wore overtop it all was too short to sit any way you would prefer to sit around the pureblood elites inside the party.
You mingled for far too long, though you did very little talking. Children were meant to be seen and not heard, a statement which seemed to carry on well into your teenage years though you would hardly call yourself a child anymore. So you answered the simplest of questions as a formality, and then sat with your lips pressed tightly together for the rest of the time your parents deemed long enough to speak. Unfortunately for you, that was a long time.
You couldn’t possibly stay like this, so you left. You mumbled a quiet excuse about having to use the restroom before slipping off elsewhere. Your options on where to go from here were limited.
You could meet with the other teens at the party, you were sure that they had fun, at least it always seemed like it. But that wasn’t your crowd, you weren’t like them; you could not be complicit in the lifestyle they loved so much. Where they only saw the benefits to their parents’ bigotry, you felt ill just thinking about it.
Or you could use those skills from all those years of being silent to sneak into the kitchen. Though you knew very little about who’s house this event was hosted at, you were sure the kitchen would be empty of anyone who wasn’t a house elf— at least long enough for you to find something that suited your fancy before you made your escape off to the garden.
So that’s where you went. Were the party goers not so loud, the clicks of your shoes meeting the shiny tile floor would be evident, but today you were lucky enough not to have to ditch them in a houseplant somewhere. You looked around, ensuring no prying eyes were on you as you found what you believed to be the kitchen door. You were proven correct when you were met with the sight of house elves busting their hide to make more food for the party. The elves made no attempt to stop you, so you kept on your way, looking around for anything interesting.
It was a glint of amber that caught your eye. Firewhisky, of course, a whole table full of it. Alongside it were bottles of expensive champagne and wines, both red and white. Temptation hit, and you made no effort to stop it. Surely, no one would notice if a bottle went missing. Parties often meant finishing off bottles of alcohol so there was no telling some random teenager had made off with it in the garden rather than adult partygoers consuming it as was planned.
Before stepping any closer to the table, you tapped a house elf on the shoulder. Playing the part of a confused and lost young woman with only good intentions, you asked for directions in a saccharine sweet tone, “excuse me? Do you think you could point me in the direction of the garden? I’m in need of fresh air but it seems I’ve entered the wrong room.”
“Oh yes young mistress, if you’ll just-“ he rattled off a list of instructions, easy enough to follow, only turning back to his work when you made clear that was all you needed and thanked him.
And once more, no attention was on you. So you took to the table and slipped out the door opposite the one you’d originally entered the kitchen from. The rest of the house was quiet, from what you’d heard on your short walk to the garden. You could hear the loud noise of the party off in the distance, and what you would guess to be the pureblood brats upstairs, but for the most part, it was calm.
Even more calm was the garden. The only noise being the chirp of crickets and the sway of leaves. Roses lined your pathway as you found yourself on the way to a beautiful willow tree which sat in what you assumed to be the center of the garden. You sat down, for the first time tonight not worrying about how your ankles were crossed and whether your bits were exposed.
Your only problem now was figuring out how to open the bottle. You started simple, peeling off the gold foil and undoing the extra metal which was spun over the cork. Herein lies your problem, you’d never actually opened a bottle of champagne before. You had drank some here and there at house parties after particularly good quidditch matches, of course— you wouldn’t let your first time getting drunk be a time you knew you would have to act sober later— but you had never done the honors of opening it. You could try to think back to how others had done it, but they’d shaken it up to finish off the cork, a flashy and messy display that you could not afford in your current situation. You opted to just pull. It took a lot of pressure, but the top eventually came off with a loud pop.
You smiled to yourself, giving the bottle a whiff.
“I should be livid, I was planning on taking that bottle for myself.” A male voice spoke from behind you, startling you enough that you jumped, spilling a small sip on the front of your dress.
You turned, seeing a boy your age towering over you. Long dark hair and gray eyes gave him away, that was Sirius Black. He was in your house, one of the very few other purebloods who hadn’t been sorted into Slytherin. You wanted to trust him, but you couldn’t base your opinion of him on the rumors you’d heard, no matter how nice of a guy they had painted him to be.
“Oh lighten up, I’ve brought glasses.” He revealed two stemless wine glasses from behind his back, a good choice for your setting, before sitting in front of you and holding one out. You took it and he gestured for you to give him the bottle to pour, still slightly caught off guard, you handed the bottle to him. He spoke as he poured the two of you generous glasses, “I’ve been entirely bored at this party, thought you’d make good company.”
You furrowed your eyebrows, flattered but confused, “what makes you say that?”
Now finished with pouring, Sirius set the bottle off to the side, his full attention on you. “Well for starters, you’re a Gryffindor, so that’s always a good sign. Second, you’re right out here, I’m guessing avoiding the snore that is that party, and instead of hanging out with my brother and his freaky friends, you’ve taken to solitude. And third, which is likely very vain of me, is because you are absolutely stunning which is also why I’m not positively livid that I’m having to share the bottle of champagne I’d originally wanted to finish by myself tonight with you.”
You smiled slyly, “there’s plenty of other bottles inside.”
“But this one’s my favorite, you have impeccable taste, love. And if I may, the other bottles no longer have any appeal without a pretty girl to drink them with.”
You laughed and took a large sip of your drink rather than answering him.
“Fourth reason you make good company, the way you are just shooting back that champagne. Not that I’d judge you for sipping, but something about the way you took that swig has done something to me.”
You snorted another laugh at the ridiculousness, “I’m not trying to enjoy the taste, I’m trying to get drunk fast.” You gulped down another large sip of champagne to further your point.
“Spoken like a true Gryffindor,” Sirius took a swig of his own drink with a smile, “I’m no Slytherin, no need to defend yourself for not having a stick up your ass around me.”
You shake your head, “I sure hope you’re telling the truth because these shoes are killing me so I’m taking them off, no matter how ‘improper’ it is.”
You reach to fumble with the buckle on your right shoe but Sirius is two steps ahead, pulling your foot into his lap.
“Allow me.” He said in the most posh voice you’d heard him use all night. when he got your first shoe off, his eyes seemed to go wide, but he ignored it in favor of pulling your left foot into his lap alongside it and taking that shoe off as well. Once your shoes were off to the side, he took to examining your ankles and pinky toes. “Bloody hell those shoes ripped up your poor feet, you’re bleeding through your stockings!”
You looked down noting that you had, in fact, bled right through the pantyhose which adorned your feet and legs. You shook your head, “they’re sheer, can’t have been too hard to bleed through.”
Sirius scoffs, rubbing gently at the inflamed areas, “They shouldn’t make you bleed at all!”
At this point in your life, you’re used to it. You’re almost certain there are no fancy, pureblood-approved shoes that don’t leave your feet achey by the end of whatever ball or function you attend. You simply repeat the phrase that gets on your nerves, the one your mother tells you all the time: “Beauty is pain.”
Sirius thinks that’s a stupid sentiment; but he knows pureblood society, he knows how little a choice you likely have in planning your outfits for events like this— especially because he has a hunch that you, much like him, are what both of your parents would call a trouble child. Rather than telling you how stupid that is, as he’s sure you’re well aware, Sirius’s eyes scan your body and he grins, “Well you must feel excruciating.”
The combination of his flirting and the champagne slowly intoxicating you has you flustered, you smile shyly, giggling and covering you face in embarrassment. “You’re just saying that,” you mumble.
He leans in as close as he can with your legs still in his lap, taking your hands into his own and pulling them from your face, “you can call me a slag, and you can call me a flirt, but you can’t call me a liar. I know beauty when I see it and you, love, are drop dead gorgeous.”
Without your hands to protect you, you try desperately to regulate your facial expressions. No matter how tight you press a pout to your lips, it does nothing to hide the dreamy look in your eyes, “You can’t just say stuff like that to me, Sirius. I’m starting to feel really tipsy and if you keep complimenting me like that I might just fall for you”
He ignores your statement, playing with your hands yet never once breaking eye contact, “I love it when you say my name.”
You deepen your pout, “Sirius-“
“Oh, there it is again,” he smirks.
“I’m not kidding.”
He shakes his head, looking down at your intertwined hands— seemingly in thought— before he meets your gaze once more, “Would that be such a bad thing?”
You blink slowly, confused, “What?”
“Falling for me,” he clarifies. Unlike his flirting from earlier, this seems much more raw, more vulnerable.
You try to think of a proper, calculated response but falter. “I-“ you stop yourself, taking a deep breath, and finishing off your drink in one swig for good luck. You pull Sirius forward by your joint hands, meeting his lips with your own. Sirius seems surprised, but he falls into the rhythm with haste.
His hands trail their way over to your hips, so you move yours up his back and into his hair. It’s soft, feels nice on your fingertips. Just like how his hands feel on your hips. It feels right.
The kiss lasts a while, long enough that when you part, you’re both panting in breaths of air. Lips parted and eyes glazed over, you stare into Sirius’s eyes, “yeah,” you nod, “I could fall for you.”
You both burst out into giggles, still holding onto one another. “That felt really good,” you say, still smiling.
“Yeah it did,” Sirius laughs. You both sit like that for a beat, before Sirius speaks again, “I could too,” he mumbles, “y’know… fall for you.”
You spend the remainder of the night talking and drinking. Before you know it, you finish off the bottle together, and you’re both drunk off your ass trying to get to know one another. It’s nice, like the kiss, it feels right. While it’s entirely new, this whole ordeal feels right, and Sirius is someone you’re willing to trust your gut feeling on.
And so it seemed the next few pureblood parties wouldn’t be so unbearable. You finally had something to look forward to, someone to spend the time with. Finding Sirius felt like a one in a million chance, and you knew you’d forever be grateful for that night you spent drinking champagne under the willow tree.

Our Beta 2
“Koko, I… I didn’t sign up to be a sex slave or a cuddle buddy. I c-can’t take this anymore!”
Y/n sat on the bed with her back leaned against the headboard, eyeing the executive in front of her with a pleading gaze as he could only stare back with pity and crossed arms. It had been two months since the additional heat and former executive Y/n has been entangled with a web of arms almost daily.
“I understand, but there’s nothing I can do. Trust me, I do feel sympathetic towards your situation, as this was an unexpected circumstance, but you know as well as I do that no one can go against the Boss's orders.” He sighs. Her head falls on her hands before she glares at him once more.
“I’ve been locked up in this room for, I don’t even know how long without a phone, and with stupid journals and board games as a means of entertainment. I’ve seen all channels and have streamed hella shows on the tv. Koko, just please help me escape. They-!”
“Stop right there. You know that either one of us could get killed if I help you. Just hang in there and be patient. I-I’ll try to find a way to at least talk you out of being stuck in this room. You can’t try anything, Y/n. It’ll only get worse.” He states as he begins to walk to the doorway.
“When are they coming back?”
“They’re on a mission right now. I don’t know when they’ll be back.”
She nods in response as he leaves and shuts the door.
I’ve gotta get out of here. I can’t be here if I’m not going to be an executive. This is torture. I’m not even an alpha.
Y/n might’ve more inclined to have accepted the terms if she would’ve been told about it before becoming an executive, having had a crush or two at the beginning, though her beta instincts not being affected as much as an alpha would to their attraction. Keyword, ‘might.’ She’s not really the type for that kind of job anyway, but it would have been nice to have had the option instead of being forced to do this. Especially with the lack of freedom.
Not to mention, she never consented to any of that, embarrassment still lingering as she thinks back on the events as she rubs the scar caused by one of the Haitanis biting her shoulder. It’s been a while so it’s fading but it was inflicted enough to last this long.
Finally deciding to make a move, she thinks of a plan to escape. Koko is probably in his designated room, face planted on his laptop screen so she shouldn’t have to worry about him, nor the alphas and omegas who are on a mission. Yes the security cameras will capture her leaving, but if she’s gone it won’t matter anyway. They’ll see the empty room. That leaves the guards. Fortunately, she gained some physical skills from her time as an executive so she wasn’t worried about fighting them off. She can find a hotel to stay in and get a new card from the bank. She’ll figure out her phone later.
She hops from the bed as she makes her way to the door. When she knocks on the door, she moves a step back to get ready for her attack. Once she hears the door click she takes a deep breath before blowing it out, jumping on the first guard that opens the door, both of them falling with her landing on top.
She punches him until he’s knocked out just in time for the second one to come behind, her standing up to grab his wrist near the shoulder that his hand was planted on, and swings him over, his body landing on the floor before she knocks him out as well. When that was over, she took a breath once more, eyeing her shaky hands as she headed to the exit. Adrenaline pumps as she runs, anticipating her freedom as she gets closer.
Once she makes it, she grabs the door and snatches it open, expecting guards to attack but only being met with icy blue eyes glaring at her.
“Fuck!” She tries pushing past him, only to be snatched painfully from the wrist as he drags her in, shutting the door behind them.
“S-Sanzu! Wait, please!” When they make it in front of the designated bedroom, he crosses over the bodies with a look of disgust.
“Pathetic. You can’t even do your job.”
He shoves her into the room. She turns back to him and grabs his arm before he can leave.
“Sanzu! P-please don’t tell Mikey! I just…!” He holds his hand up with narrowed eyes. She releases him and steps back. Pulling out his phone, begins dialing a number. Putting the phone to his ear, he begins speaking in his language. Y/n could only stare wide eyed in fear as to what could be planned for her. The only word she recognized was ‘traitor’ and that didn’t make her feel any better. When the call ended, he placed his phone back in his pocket before pulling out his gun and pointing at her. She froze as he walked closer to her. Before she could process anything, he pulled it back before landing a blow on her head with the butt of the gun, knocking her out. He catches her body before it falls and places her on the bed, leaving the room once he is done.
When she awakens, an excruciating pain in her abdomen catches her attention as her face scrunches and grunts leave her mouth. She attempted to move her arm to wrap around the pressure but she looked over to see that a cuff was connected from the chain hanging from the post. Her arm failing to budge caused her to move her leg which is also restrained against the bed tightly.
A wet liquid gushes out of her uncontrollably causing her to squirm in discomfort, the sensation of it dripping down her bare ass making her sick as she’s never been used to this kind of slick forming from her own body. Finally, she’s aware of her surroundings when she hears a loud scream in the room.
“P-PLEASE…!” The sound of an object making contact with flesh caused her worse pain as she recognized the word, meaning someone’s demise had been completed.
“Boss! I wont let it happen again! Sp-spare me for my fam-!”
“Shut up.” Mikey hissed. The same sound made an impact once more, interrupting the victim causing her to flinch as tears built.
That must be the guards. I’m really going to die like this.
“Ah Beta, you’re finally awake.” Ran says as he walks over with the bloody baton on his shoulder, smirking as he looks down at her.
“Hey, you’re looking a little warm. Let’s fix that” Rin says before snatching the blanket that’s covering her naked body away. She gasps as she tries to use her legs to cover herself in reflex, failing miserably. It doesn’t matter how many times they have seen her naked, she will always feel humiliation considering they were her partners in quite a few missions. Also to be in such a vulnerable state, sweaty, hot, her own aroma filling up the air, and in straight agony, bare in front of the psychopaths she used to look up to, her being the newest executive after all.
She groans when another shot of pain surges through her body after another gush of slick falls out, gritting her teeth as her hands turn to fists. She breathes heavily as she tries to contain the new urges, her body surviving through an experience she has never had to deal with before. A hand grabs her chin, forcing her to look towards the opposite side of the bed, Mikey standing above her, his hair hovering over as he leans over.
“This is your fault.” He states with a stoic expression before releasing his grip and walking away from the bed, towards the exit. On the same side, Sanzu gets closer with a smirk on his face.
“Enjoy your heat, Beta.” They all walk towards the exit, shutting the door behind them as they leave Y/n and the dead bodies in the room.
After a while of suffering through the process with tears, slick, and agony, the door clicks open as a few footsteps make their way in. Koko came into view with a concerned look on his face, shaking his head.
“Y/n, I told you not to try anything.” He groans, palms rubbing down his face. She could only respond with whimpers and sniffs as she couldn’t form the words to express her distress.
“They’re planning to keep you here for the entire duration of your induced heat. I’m sorry, Y/n but it’s unknown as to when it will be over.” He resists the urge to cover her with the blanket, not wanting to deal with the repercussions that would come.
“K-koko please…! Unchain me f-for just a m-minute… I need t-to…t-take care of myself!”
“I cannot risk my own safety, Y/n. You will have to endure.” He sighs in pity. He looks over as the employees drag the bodies out and clean the evidence.
“Next time, please don’t let this happen again. For your own sake.”
Y/n’s heat lasted for a week and a half before she finally ended with no release or anyone to help her through. The omegan urges haunted her throughout the process of trying to survive. Nobody was allowed to check on her after the cleaners came. She wasn’t given food or water and had to endure with an empty stomach and dry throat, not that she would’ve been able to eat or drink anything anyway with her discomfort.
When it was over, she was too weak to speak or move, her eyes hollow as she could only take breaths and lay there. Finally, employees cleaned and fed her, a slow process before they left after chaining one of her ankles to the bed. She spent the next week becoming healthier, only allowed to get up for the bathroom. There were no signs of any executives until Mikey slept in the same bed one of the nights after it was over, holding her. The other omegan executives getting their own time with her when their boss allows it.
When Y/n was completely healthy, she was used once again as a heat guide for them as they shared the bed, bundled up in different nests made of clothes and blankets. She reluctantly accepts her fate, having no choice but to comply and survive.

churning tides
a/n ;; gonna be honest, this ficlet is just a dump of all the ideas i’ve got for my hydro husband, so if it flops that’s why. idk what mare jivari has secrets of but I’m assuming some heavy lore there when we get to it! ;; slight lore and fontaine archon quest spoilers. also didn’t know how to end it so *shrugs* reader has a geo vision!
Neuvillette never knew how outwardly possessive he could become… so… so emotional.
The people of Fontaine knew him as a stoic Iudex, a truly unbiased judge with nerves of steel to match. And while that was true, that persona remained to the public.
For the most part.
But with you, he feared word would get around that he’s more than just the calm and collected Iudex of Fontaine.
The man before him was sweating bullets in his presence. The air was thick and heavy with authority… or maybe a slight rage blended with jealousy. Either way, the man knew that Neuvillette was in no mood for small talk.
“E-E-Excuse me, Monsieur Neuvillette. I’ll be on my way now.”
Neuvillette’s reply is nothing short of flat. “Sure.”
As the man scurries off in a fast walk, you stifle your laughs with a hand over your mouth. Your shoulders shake with each giggle, and finally the Iudex can feel himself calming down.
“Jealous?”
Neuvillette gazed at you like you have three heads.
“Oh, come on. You can’t tell me you weren’t mad by another man keeping me company.”
“Of course not.”
“Liar,” you tut, waggling your finger. You take a sip of the coffee, humming as the caffeine and warmth spread through you. “But you’re off the hook, for now. I haven’t seen you in months. And I’m sure that you’ve missed me, too.”
“Tis the life of a famed adventurer like yourself, I suppose,” he responds, sitting down in the chair next to you in the court of the cafe.
“I suppose,” you sigh. “So; I heard about the prophecy. It came to pass then?”
Neuvillette sighs, nodding in confirmation. He’s simple with telling you what happened, utilizing enough detail that you can figure out specific events without him having to speak about them.
When he’s done, you lean back in your seat. Your eyes are blown open with bewilderment.
“So, your powers as the Hydro Sovereign are fully restored then?”
“That’s correct.”
“Celestia is gonna be pissed.”
“Let them simmer then. I will return their rage tenfold.”
You chuckle. “Hope you’ll let me know when the war starts. I’d like to help.”
Neuvillette’s brows furrow. He looks down to your Geo Vision, then to your left arm and right leg, their secrets hidden behind nothing more than cloth.
“A Vision doesn’t mean much except a representation of one’s type of wish at a certain time, Neuvillette. That… and I know more about this world than I care to.”
He’s silent for a moment, then realizes. “Mare Jivari?”
“There, and much more.” You shake your head. “But let’s not think about that. Any new riveting cases? How are the Melusines? Have you finally given Charlotte her interview?”
Neuvillette chuckles. Yes, he’s indeed missed you.
Ah, now he’s wondering how to ask you on a date.

Opinion on how annabeth punches and pushes percy, the judo flip and percy being reduced to a himbo malewife in hoo (can't make his way out of a paper bag without annabeth).
(Please note most of knowledge comes from PJO and HOO as I have not read much of the later series, but I do know the main points and events that happened and have read certain pages *cough* judo flip *cough*
I’ll start with the first part, Annabeth punching Percy (which happens the first time long before HOO) and the infamous Judo flip, which is for some reason very controversial.
Most of the arguments I see are one of these few things.
1. Annabeth was worried and did it out love
2. They were raised as demigods (child soldiers) so it’s not the same/ they are used to violence therefore it excuses her actions
3. There is nothing wrong with her hitting because it wasn’t like
First off, all of these arguments and any other ones I’ve seen when it comes to this topic and defending Annabeth are bullshit. Why? Because there is no excuse to hitting a partner. Slapping someone’s shoulder while joking or something in a similar context is miles different to what was happening here. Annabeth hit Percy hard, and she did it with the intention of making it hurt. There is no excuse for that. Sure, they were raised as Demigods and violence has always been a large part of their lives, but then shouldn’t Percy also lash out and hit Annabeth if that’s the case? And shouldn’t that be fine too? You don’t hit someone out of worry or concern either, not hard enough for an army to believe you to be a threat. Annabeth has never been nice to Percy, she canonically say in TLT that she doesn’t care if he dies, only that she can go on the quest. And ok, maybe that could be written off as an immature twelve year old, if her actions in later books didn’t continually prove that she hadn’t changed or developed. I think another fundamental issue in her relationship with Percy is that she can never be wrong, Luke being the biggest example of this.
Percy, even with his history and past friendship with Luke, was able to look at things objectively to an extent. He says multiple times that Luke had a point. I honestly think if it had’ve just been Luke, if titans hadn’t of been involved, that Percy would’ve joined Luke. But that’s a whole other thing. I only bring it up because I think Luke particularly is the best example of Percy having far better judgement than Annabeth, who refuses to be wrong. Something that again is addressed within BOTL, when she challenges the Sphynx because of her pride, and is an asshole to Rachel because she doesn’t want to rely on another person and is jealous. She likes being the leader, she wants to be the person people rely on, but that has always comes naturally to Percy despite how much he himself hates it.
I personally would’ve far preferred Perachel to be canon than Percab*th. Percy is always stressed about Annabeth, about doing the wrong thing where with Rachel feels like he can be himself, not like he has to live up to some invisible standard he can’t ever hope to meet.
I also, as I’ve written about before when discussing Percab*th is that Annabeth is not an essential character to HOO, and that she could’ve easily been interchanged for someone more interesting and dynamically different. I think Percy was sidelined to try and give Annabeth more purpose in the story. I also think Percy is consistently put down, berated and underestimated. He literally has people thinking he’s a god when he first meets them, that isn’t someone who lacks power. I also think Annabeth has always been a little bit scared of Percy to certain degree. Or at least acutely aware that she would not be able to put a fight if Percy turned on her and he put in a tiny bit of effort.
I also Percy is never given enough or really any recognition of everything he did. That he took the prophecy so it wouldn’t go to Nico. That he turned down immortality, not for Annabeth, but because of a promise he made to Luke and his years long stance that nothing is worth living forever for. I think the nuance of Percy as a character, and his ability to connect with and understand characters like Like and Ethan is severely underdeveloped. He has never been blind to the gods faults, he didn’t do what he did in the name of the gods. He did it for the campers, for the demigods who’d carry out their parents burdens simply because they had the audacity to be born. Demigods doomed to die from the moment they’re born because of their parents, like him. I particularly think Percy is too far often used as a scapegoat for Nico’s issues and often either villainised or dumbed down into a himbo.
It’s ridiculous, since Percy has repeatedly shown himself to have both better judgment and better strategising skills than Annabeth. Percy is better than Annabeth, and he has far more power than she ever will.
Percy is such an amazing and nuanced character with so much room to explore different characteristics he’s shown at different times and he is too often sidelined to boost another character (most often Annabeth and Nico)
Overall I don’t really like Annabeth, and I’ve yet to hear a viable reason as to why what she did should be ok. And I truly believe HOO did a disservice to Percy by dumbing him down, and making him reliant on Annabeth.
I hope you like my answer! Thank you so much for asking I absolutely love getting questions and I also love a chat so please feel free to keep it coming!

Mephisto's performance
(Mephisto x gn!MC)
(NSFW) (angst) (NSFW tags: very slight dom!top!Mephisto and bottom!MC; "office" sex, semi-public/risky, no condom, creampie, hate-fucking, "use me" dynamic, consent - but with a lot of regret so maybe dubious?, slight degradation with backhanded praise, Mephisto calling MC a whore and a slut, so slutshaming, pain, slapping, fingering light bondage, half-clothed, no orgasm for MC sorry)
(other tags: religious undertones, one-sided enemies to ?who knows?, sad/bittersweet ending)
Word Count: +2,200
To say you admired Mephistopheles was an understatement; you were absolutely smitten. Granted, he had a reputation for being a pompous asshole whose presence left a bitter taste in Lucifer’s mouth – the same mouth that warned you about spending time with the likes of Mephisto and questioned your recent attention to “a demon whose attitude and pride might be excusable if it was offset by actual wit and usefulness.”
Clearly, Lucifer either hadn’t seen the version of Mephisto that you had – the small slips in his bitter façade – or he had, and Lucifer simply refused to acknowledge it. You didn’t care what anyone else said about Mephisto. He had watched over Luke when he fell asleep in common places multiple times. As much as he protested, when you really needed him, he offered his assistance in whatever form he could – especially when it would aid Diavolo. If nothing else, Lucifer should have remembered that Mephisto was right there with Diavolo and Barbatos, tending to him and his brothers on the day they fell. You knew better. Mephisto was sweet.
He was adorable. You remembered the precious smile he had on his face while staring up at the new blossoms forming on the trees one early morning. It wasn’t the only time you had caught his face softening, entranced by some natural beauty. Mephisto still blushed when you would pay him a genuine compliment, covering his mouth with a gloved hand.
Sweet. Adorable. And so, so sexy.
Lust and affection had motivated you to pay Mephisto a visit in the RAD Newspaper Club room – another attempt to get on his good side. This time, you brought gifts to appease the bitter old demon: hot coffee and sweets that you and Luke had baked yesterday. However, the second you walked through that door, Mephisto let out an annoyed sigh.
“Why are you bothering me?” he asked, sparing you a second glance – but not a third.
“I wanted to cheer you up,” you admitted, setting your offering on his desk. “Diavolo told me that he had seen you working nonstop in preparation for the upcoming event. I figured that might be why you’ve been frowning every time I’ve seen you all week. I brought you coffee and sweets that Luke and I made.”
Part of you had an inkling that Mephisto actually enjoyed your company more than he let on. Maybe you were just clinging to a deeply engraved hope that he wanted you. Maybe you read into signs of his kindness towards you. Perhaps wishful thinking turned a two-second glance – maybe even a judgmental glare – into a longing stare. You wanted to break through his defenses if he’d let you. Well, you had certainly broken something.
Your act of kindness pushed Mephisto over the edge, and he looked up from his work and raised his voice at you. “I have too much on my plate to keep drilling this into that thick, fucking skull of yours. I don’t like you, you won’t change my mind, and that pathetic hopeful look on your face infuriates me.”
You didn’t fully believe him – as desperate as that may sound. Perhaps it was selfish, but you didn’t want to leave him alone in that room.
Mephisto waited for you to turn around and walk away, but you didn’t budge. He sighed and got to his feet. “What? Why are you still here? Why are you bringing me things hours before any of your classes even start? What do you want?”
Most classes hadn’t started yet, but if you hadn’t arrived before everyone else, you wouldn’t have been able to see Mephisto alone. Barbatos had mentioned that Mephisto was an early riser in passing once, so you figured you would find him overworking himself that morning. As for what you wanted, you wished it was more obvious to him.
“I want you to love me,” you confessed. Mephisto circled his desk so he could sandwich you between himself and the desk, blocking your path to the exit.
“How do you want me to love you? With my boot on your neck? With my fingers buried inside of you? With my hips pressed against you? What do you want? How do you expect me to love you? I could ruin you, but love?”
You shuddered. Was this a rejection or an invitation? You forced the words, and they fell out in a clumsy mess. “I don’t expect it – you loving me. I just want it, but you could ruin me instead if you wanted.”
Mephisto’s eyes widened; he retreated slightly before narrowing his eyes. “What are you saying?”
“Use me – if you really can’t love me.” Shame burned in your cheeks, but you continued. You were determined to call his bluff. “Take out your anger and hatred on my body. Do whatever you want.”
Maybe he truly hated you. Maybe he would be disgusted by your offer. Maybe he would refuse because he did love you. Or maybe he would agree to use you – to ruin you – without a trace of affection. Even then, at least you would finally get to be with him for however long you could manage to be entertaining. The possibilities ran through your head, just quick enough to fill the brief moment before Mephisto responded.
“Turn around,” he demanded. His voice was cold. In truth, you hadn’t expected him to take you up on your offer. Your heart sank as you watched Mephisto remove his tie. A low, growling sigh left him when you remained immobile. He took your arm and forced you to turn. “You offered. So, do as you’re told.”
Your voice caught in your throat. Mephisto made quick work of knotting his tie around your wrists and up your forearms, binding them behind your back. Fear washed over your body as you felt Mephisto tug your pants and underwear down to your ankles. Was this really what you wanted?
Mephisto reached over you, pressing his chest firmly against your back as he did, and pulled a bottle of lube from his top desk drawer. You didn’t question why he had it there, but you did have a question for him: “Why are you using that on me?”
The answer was obvious, but you were begging for some kind of affection from him, wishing for the words “I don’t want to hurt you” to leave his lips with enough sweetness to sate you, but they didn’t come. Instead, Mephisto removed his glove; tugged on his tie, bringing you closer; and shoved his glove into your mouth to shut you up. You felt one cool, lubricated finger plunge into you – quickly followed by a second. You bit down on his glove as he began to stretch you out.
“To answer your question, I’d be in a world of trouble if anyone found out that I hurt you. Everyone seems to think that you’re so fucking precious. Besides,” Mephisto paused, using the last word to soften the spite in his voice before he continued, “you’ll feel better if I do this first.”
You couldn’t tell if he meant that you would feel better for him or if he wanted you to feel some kind of pleasure from this too, but you hoped. However, that hope wasn’t enough to ease the heavy aching in your chest. Even through the bits of pleasure you felt when Mephisto’s long fingers curled into your body, you knew that this wasn’t how you wanted it. That truth sat rancid in your gagged mouth – somehow more unsavory than anything. Even the realization that you would die (for good) one day was less distasteful than this.
It was almost a comfort when Mephisto pulled his fingers out. You heard his pants drop before he tugged you violently towards him. Your ass was flush against him. There was a filthy relief in knowing that he was hard. At least you had aroused him a bit, then, right? You wished you could have suppressed the dirty, joyous hope you felt. Maybe he wanted you just as badly.
Mephisto entered you slowly. It almost felt intimate: the way he ran his gloved hand through your hair before tugging at it, the way his lips found your neck before it was all teeth and marks, the way his hips rocked slowly into you before he stopped holding back. He almost made this feel like affection before the poison left his mouth between panting and groans. “Not so useless anymore, are you?”
How did he know exactly how to give you a gentle touch that left you hoping before he stripped it from you? He said he didn’t want anyone to know he hurt you, so of course he would figure out how to break your heart. At least that was a pain you could never show anyone. It would live in you – and he would be the only other person who knew that such a haunting beast was hiding inside.
You choked back tears as his thrusting picked up speed and intensity, forcing your thighs against his desk repeatedly with each buck of his hips. This was going to bruise. It was just enough to slosh some of the coffee out of the cup you had brought him earlier. A small puddle pooled towards the edge of the desk until it grazed your thigh, burning for a moment before all you could feel was a numb ache – a small punishment for your foolishness.
This time, you couldn’t hold back a groan. You had tried so hard to disguise any sign of pain or pleasure, but this was too much. Your muffled noise alerted Mephisto to the mess you had both made. It was a small one with no casualties. It hadn’t even reached any of his documents. The only thing left damaged was you, and yet Mephisto dragged you back by the tie around your arms, his cock still buried in you, with an angry, “fuck.”
Did he not want you to get hurt? No.
Mephisto tugged your hair up until you were standing upright – as upright as you could be when you were still impaled on him. He took his glove out of your mouth before he forcefully bent you over towards the edge of the desk. “Lick up the mess, whore.”
You did as he told you. The coffee was still hot, and it stung on your tongue, but you were distracted by a firm slap to your ass. When you managed to clean up the mess, Mephisto brought you upright again with a rough tug and shoved his glove back into your mouth.
“There’s a good little slut,” Mephisto chuckled before he continued to fuck you – even more violently than before. He called you good, at least.
You were choking back tears when he snaked his gloved hand tenderly around your neck. Mephisto used his index finger to guide your chin up. Staring at the ceiling, with your eyes to heaven, you felt that you owed something – someone – a prayer. You wanted to thank some god that Mephisto’s hand was there around your throat – as if the slight pressure was the only thing keeping the sobs and moans inside of you. No. It wasn’t a god that you were grateful to. It was Mephisto. Even as he used you for his amusement, your desire still burned. Your love blazed steadily. Through the pain and emptiness, you still adored him. How pathetic.
Even more pathetic was the contentment you felt as Mephisto sunk his teeth into your shoulder, muffling his moans as he came inside of you. He didn’t pleasure you enough for you to cum; you got the smallest taste of it, and somehow you were content.
Mephisto was quick to pull out of you and get his pants back up. You stood there, trying to reel yourself back into your body – too slowly for Mephisto’s liking. He tugged your pants and underwear back up for you. His glove slipped from your mouth and onto the floor as you attempted to protest with a feeble, “wait.”
His cum had already started to leak out, and the feeling of it sickened you – a shameful sickness. This felt awful and wrong and disgusting, but the most resentful part of you quietly wanted him to bend you back over his desk and fill you up all over again.
Mephisto pulled you in by his tie around your arms and leaned close to your ear. “Keep it in you. I want that sensation to stick with you all day and remind you how much I despise you. Now get out of my sight.”
You felt his tie slip from around your arms. Mephisto dragged you towards the door and shoved you out into the hallway. You heard the distinct sound of the door locking behind you.
Mephisto waited for your hesitant footsteps to fade away down the hall before he sunk his teeth into the back of his ungloved hand. Tears streamed down his face as he dropped to his knees on the floor. Had he finally given you a convincing performance – persuaded you to stay away from him?
In that dim room on a dark Devildom morning, on his knees, Mephisto felt that he owed something – someone – a prayer. Unsure if he was even allowed – or who would hear it – he prayed that he had finally shown you what a monster he was. The cruel, wicked beast he housed had spit its parasitic DNA into you and waited to consume you. He was a demon, with his hands clasped so tightly together that they trembled, brought to his knees. His prayer – half-confession – found no purchase. It lived only inside of him, and even you would never know. It was a small, lenient punishment.

404 - Title Not Found (part/chapter 3)
Part 1 - Tumblr Part 2 - Tumblr
Ao3
Summary: Jason was expecting the gala to be boring like always but is pleasantly surprised when it isn’t.
Danny meant it as a joke but Fenton luck always strikes. At least he gets an excuse to talk to the cute guy he gave quarters to.
AN: As always this is crack, this is a whole crack fic; and I play fast and loose with DC&DP cannon. Ignore any out of character writing(mainly Vlad and Bruce).
Kinda/slow Vlad redemption, kinda like a shitty uncle that you get along with sometimes.
Danny and Jason don’t know each other’s names for a bit so they refer to each other as:
Danny - Quarter Guy
Jason - Laundry Guy
Enjoy the crack! :)
Jason immediately knew that the other wasn’t from Gotham. No one just offered anything without an immediate confirmation that they would get something in return. At least that’s how it was in Crime Alley. He and the other held small talk while they were doing their laundry.
“You just offer quarters to people?” He said sarcastically only to have an actual answer in return. “Only the cute people.” The other said with a somewhat joking tone.
“Uh huh. What’s ya name? I didn’t catch it.” Jason wouldn’t directly admit but this guy had peaked his interest even more.
“Well, I didn’t throw.” The guy answered with a smile that felt sarcastic with just a bit of wanting chaos.
The topic changed to other things. He learned that quarter guy had moved to Crime Alley awhile back, he didn’t give a clear reason why; “Just thought it’d be a good change of pace.”
He also learned that Quarter Guy was going to some kind of event with his godfather; saying that even though he agreed to go, he could still complain. And god did he complain but nothing sounded too bad. “He’s just a fruitloop, I wouldn’t doubt him trying to use me to get secrets from the other people.”
Jason didn’t share any too personal information; besides it just out of sceret identity and such but it would also feel weird to. Jason did complain about how he was more or less forced into agreeing to go to the Wayne gala, only not sharing that it was a gala or that it was a Wayne event.
“Maybe we end up at the same event.” Quater guy, who still didn’t tell Jason his name, joked. His laundry had been done before his own. Quarter guy left with a smile that only made him want to figure out why he felt familiarly even more. Jason was more curious about this guy than before but decided to hold off on figuring out more about it.
—
It was just meant as a joke. Danny really did mean as a joke but just his fucking luck(or honestly he was expecting CW to be the cause in some way), he was now looking at the guy he gave quarters to a day or two pior. He was standing next to the snack table, avoiding Vlad so he didn’t have to worry about talking to other rich people he didn’t trust. The snacks didn’t look good in any sense of the word, why did he expect rich people to know what good snacks look and taste like.
He was thinking about texting Sam to complain, knowing that she would say I told you so but that when he noticed the guy from his apartment building was there. It took a second to recgionze him since he seemed more put together and dressed nicer, but it was him. Danny wouldn’t have questioned it too much if the guy wasn’t standing next to Bruce Wayne but he was. Danny didn’t need to know any more rich people but life(or probably CW) had other plans.
He noticed that the guy hadn’t seemed to see him yet. Danny moved away from the snack table, going opposite from Wayne and the laundry guy; mainly focusing on staying hidden but a voice called him. “Danỉ͔͖̜͌ẹ̿͋̒̕l̙͖̑̾ͣ!” It wasn’t loud, at least it wasn’t to humans. It had just enough of a hint of ghost speak to have Danny turn to look. Of course when he had his back turned, Vlad had to go and speak to Bruce Wayne. “Come over, I’ve hardly seen you since we’ve arrived.”
Danny held back a sigh and eye roll as he went over to Vlad and Wayne; which also meant laundry guy. He had felt Wayne’s eyes on him as he went over, laundry guy hadn’t seemed to notice or frankly care enough to look. He looked at Bruce. He knew of “Brucie” Wayne and had wondered if it was just a persona like when Vlad used to pretend to be niceish to his dad. He side eyed laundry guy, who didn’t look at him at all.
“You didn’t tell me you had a so-“ Bruce started with a hint of curiosity. Danny was quick to cut him off. “He didn’t because I’m not.” That’s what finally got laundry guy’s attention, he looked at Danny for a second and Danny already knew that he recognized him. “Daniel, that was rude.” Vlad looked at him before going back to Bruce. “I apologize for him but he is right. He’s my godson.” Vlad said, leaving it to Danny to introduce himself.
“Yes, I do apologize for cutting you off like that.” Danny started. He used the tone he would use with some of the ghost nobles. It was a bit forced but relatively kind. He’d hate to admit and never would out loud but he learned it from Vlad. “It’s alright, I understand how words hold meaning.” He noticed how it sounded more real than “Brucie” usually did.
He just nodded before continuing, “Okay. I’ll introduce myself before Vlad tries to.” Danny made his tone sound just a bit joking. He felt laundry guy’s full attention on him. He smiled, a little fake and a little smug. “I’m Danny Fenton and as Vlad said, I am his godson.”
There was some “good to meet you”s exchanged. Danny picked up on the fact that Bruce nudged Laundry Guy to introduce himself.
—
Jason didn’t like Vlad Masters at all. He was creepy, all around weird and untrustworthy. He had only seen him a few times before, spoke to him barely unless with Bruce but something was off now. There was a strange feeling of paranoia around Vlad that he couldn’t place. Even with all his training from the Bat.
He had been staying relatively close to Bruce, not wanting to deal with questions or the other people which Bruce seemed to respect. He had noticed that Bruce had been trying to be better or very least trying to understand his perspective. It was something, it was better than nothing.
Jason had held back a groan as soon as he saw Vlad approach him and (mainly) Bruce. He tuned out most of everything, just looking at the other people around them. It was like every other time Bruce was stopped by another billionaire. Just stand there, vaguely pay attention and look at the crowd of other people. That’s how it was going until he heard Vlad call out to someone else.
“Danỉ͔͖̜͌ẹ̿͋̒̕l̙͖̑̾ͣ!“ He heard Vald call out to someone else. it sounded off, not by a lot but still. He didn’t show a reaction outside of paying more attention. He noticed Bruce didn’t show any slight reaction which was expected. Jason still didn’t care enough to fully look up at whoever Vlad had called over until Bruce had started talking and was immediately cut off.
Jason had recognized the voice right off the bat. He looked up and saw Quarter Guy or as he introduced himself, Danny. It was obvious that the other recognized him as well but spoke as if he didn’t. He thought of when he talked to him while doing laundry and how he joked about them going to the same event. He heard formalities go around when felt Bruce nudge him. A signal to introduce himself.
He faced Danny, taking note of how he acted like they hadn’t met and he decided to go along with it. “Jason. Nice meeting ya.” He said with a similar smile that Bruice Wayne was known for but each bat kid had their own distinct version of it. “Nice to meet you as well.” Danny said with his own smile, he noticed that it was a mix between genuine and fake.
Jason noticed how different the other acted compared to when they talked a few days prior. He took note of how he was not as talkative or sarcastic and just had a small sense of fakeness about him. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for people to have a more or less fake personas at galas but he found it interesting how the other did a complete 180.
“So Danny, this your first gala?” Jason asked. A bit genuinely curious and also since he knew Bruce would ask him at some point. Danny looked at Vlad for a split second before answering. It seemed like silent communication. “No and yes. I’ve been to a few before but this is the first one I’ve been to in Gotham.” He had kept the smile as he explained. “Vlad has dragged me to some all over. Although I mainly attend the few that are held in my hometown.”
Yeah, he was definitely lying about something. It was easy to guess especially when Danny looked at Vlad before he had answered. He didn’t outwardly question it or look at Bruce to see if he noticed it too, of course he had; world’s greatest detective or whatever.
“Well we’re glad that you decided to attend tonight.” Bruce spoke, or well Brucie did. Some of the others had personas similar to the Brucie one but Jason didn’t. He didn’t feel like he needed one especially after coming back. “How about Jason and you go off and do your own thing while I speak business with Vlad?”
Jason looked at Bruce for a second, they both knew something was sketchy with Vlad and instead of including him in getting more info on him, Bruce was pushing him off to Danny. Not that he was complaining but still. He looked at Danny for his response.
—
Danny looked at Vlad, a bit surprised that Vlad wasn’t one to suggest that although he would’ve been suggesting it as a way to get information against competition. Vlad just gave a nod to him, Danny held back a sign knowing that Vlad would still use it as an opportunity for that. “Sure, why not? Still getting used to the city and all.”
And with that, he was led away by Jason. He could already hear Vlad scheming. At least he would be the only ghost he’d have to deal with. Hopefully, he didn’t want to jinx himself. He just let Jason drag him away from Bruce and Vald, not really caring where they went.
They finally stopped in a more quiet corner of the gala room. It was less bright with less people which Danny was grateful for. He had attended more ghost galas than human ones. So the loudness that came with human ones was still newish to him.
“So, I guess we really did end up at the same event.” Jason said with a smug grin. Hopefully just making it known that he said it as a joke would make it seem as a crazy coincidence and not too weird.
Danny gave him a sheepish smile, “I swear I meant it as a joke.”

unfortunately i don't really drink so i don't know any drinking games. so this fic is based on the song's ✨vibes✨
not beta read. first draft is my final draft mentality. uhhh based on promos and nothing else so if this becomes outdated next week i'm so sorry
pairing: ash x gender neutral! reader
word count: 2.1k words
accompanying bot: 🍻
You weren’t a heavy drinker. Not like you could be one anyways, considering you were deemed the designated sober friend for tonight. Not that you minded. You were more than cautious about drinking at a frat house. It was Essex’s only Asian frat and you had been invited by your friend Myung-Jun, or “MJ” as some of your friends call her. In all honesty, Essex had little diversity—an unshocking reality for 2021’s “Most Liberal College in America” which explains why Greek life was still mostly led by the historically white fraternities. The doors to the party were open to everyone because everyone at Essex liked to party.
Except your friends, for some reason.
You wanted to go with other people you know, outside of darling Myung-Jun. She was sweet and super into this guy at the frat and you didn’t want to end up third wheeling. But all your friends had other plans.
“There’s an event tonight at the antiracist research center. And as the events coordinator, I have to go. I organized it. I’ve been working on this for months!” is the excuse your friend Apinya gave you.
“I have homework.” was the excuse you got from three of your other friends.
“I have to stay at the lab to work on this report.” was Whitney’s reasoning.
“There’s an event at the KJ house tonight. Sorry.” Multiple of your friends were going to the KJ House tonight.
So essentially, it was just you and Myung-Jun and her friends, most of which you just met. And first meetings were always a little awkward, even at parties. You’re only nursing some Sprite in the red solo cup when Myung-Jun walks over, giggling. “(Y/N)! (Y/N)!” She says, her arm around the shoulders of a girl with shaggy dark hair, high cheekbones, and pouty lips wearing a denim jacket. “Oh my god! Are you having fun?”
“Yeah. I’m doing great.”
“You looked so lonely over here, so I thought I’d bring someone to keep you company!” She pats the girl’s shoulders. “(Y/N), this is Ash. She’s Talia’s friend.”
“Talia? Like…Talia Tran the philosophy major who already has an idea for what her capstone is going to be? That Talia Tran?” You ask.
“I mean…that’s one way to put it.” Your heart nearly stops hearing her voice. You can’t describe it exactly without letting someone else hear it. But her voice is warm, smooth and there’s a slight hint of a rasp. She clears her throat. Her cheeks are pink. “But yeah. Talia Tran. She’s cool.”
“You should’ve seen her! We taught her how to play APT. She can really hold her liquor!”
Ash shrugs. “I barely feel anything.”
“(Y/N) on the other hand, is a lightweight.”
“I-I’m not!” You feel your own face heat up with embarrassment. But it was true. A lightweight and depending on the day, you either got sleepy or really giggly. The first option didn’t exactly make drinking outside of your home or a friend’s place safe.
Myung-Jun looks between you two, smirking. “Ash is also single.”
Ash looks over at the slightly shorter girl. “Okay. Outing me as single already.”
Myung-Jun only giggles before walking away, leaving you alone with the attractive girl. She looks nice beneath the blue and purple lights of the fraternity house basement. “She does this a lot. When she’s drunk, she tries to matchmake. Unfortunately it actually seems to work.” You explain. It hasn’t worked so far, mostly because you didn’t want another situationship. Your last one ended pretty badly and left you laying in bed for the remainder of the year. It being winter probably didn’t help.
“How long have you two known each other?” Ash says, raising the volume of her voice so you can hear her over the loud music and people singing and dancing to it.
“Ring Ding Dong.”
Definitely fits the vibes.
Ash glances back, slowly moving towards you. The denim jacket is grazing your knuckles. She looks at you curiously with her eyes. “Since high school. She also ended up moving from the city to the suburbs like me. So we became friends in a school where everyone’s known each other since they were in diapers.” You also raise the volume of your voice as you talk to her.
“And you both went to Essex together? That’s cute.” Ash leans towards you, glancing down at your cup. “What’s your poison?”
“I prefer weed. A good edible. Not much of a drinker.” You take a sip. “It’s Sprite.”
“Honestly smart. I think I took too many shots of soju. I started hating the taste of yogurt.”
“That’s like the worst flavor!” You can’t stop the small laugh that leaves you and your lips from curling into a smile.
“It’s not. It’s very underrated. But honestly, I had enough for tonight.” She takes your cup and presses it to her lips.
If it was a man who did that, you would hate them immediately. But here was Ash, taking your cup and taking a sip of your Sprite. It was weirdly attractive, in a drunken sort of way. Of course, she might be a little tipsy, which would explain the lack of inhibition. Sober people usually don’t take other people’s drinks. “How do you know I didn’t mix it with anything?”
Ash looks at you up and down. “MJ told me you’re the designated sober friend for today.”
“That I am. But some people don’t like being sober friends.” You take the cup from her hand. You can’t help but admire how…relaxed she is. You’d probably be a bit of a mess if you weren’t sober. Some of these parties could be overwhelming. “Some sober friends end up more wasted than the people that brought them out.”
“Okay well…you’re not wrong. That’s happened on more than one occasion.” You finish up the Sprite and set the cup down on a flat surface. It wasn’t your house. They’d clean it up anyways.
“It smells too sweet down here.”
“That’s from all the people vaping inside.”
“Do you want to get some fresh air?”
Your heartbeat picks up a little bit. “Yeah. Sure.” You swallow your saliva, letting Ash take your hand and guide you through the dancing people, up the stairs, and out of the frat house.
Her hand was soft and the silver rings on her fingers were cool to the touch. You want to look at them more closely, feel the intricate designs and study them, ask her about how she got them, how long she’s been collecting jewelry. She was a silver girl it seems.
The air outside tastes better. It’s more crisp and you’re able to breathe without issue and needing to deeply inhale for some semblance of oxygen. But the air bites back against you through your thin clothes. Goosebumps form on your skin and you involuntarily shiver. It was supposed to be warm today. But you could never trust the weather app, could you?
“Now we can talk without yelling at each other.” She says, leaning against the wall of the house besides you.
“And breathe. Finally.” Your hand slides into the pocket of your pants and you could feel the joint inside of its tube. Pre-rolled of course. You didn’t have time to roll while working on your midterm papers. And you’re tempted to light it.
“So what are you studying?”
“Is that the question we’re starting off with?” You turn your head to look at her.
“It’s college. We all start with that question. What’s your name, what are your pronouns, where are you from, what are you majoring in.” Ash puts her hand out.
You roll your eyes. But you tell her anyway. Your name, your pronouns, where you’re from, what you’re majoring in at Essex. She doesn’t interrupt you, she just watches you with curious eyes. You fail to notice how her eyes glance down at your lips while you’re talking, too busy looking at other things because eye contact was uncomfortable. You soon end up going on a small tangent. About what, you don’t exactly remember because you mostly remember the biting chill of the wind.
“Sounds rough. I’m sorry your situationship was an asshole.”
You have to stop talking, looking at her. She’s looking at you with those big eyes of hers. Beneath the porch light, they look dark blue. Had you been talking about your situationship? “Yeah…I just…wish they were better.” You huff, crossing your arms over your chest. Your hands rub your upper arms, trying to get some friction going to warm yourself up.
Ash slowly slides her jacket off. “Here. Take it.”
“What? But aren’t you…” You look at what she’s wearing beneath the jacket. A baggy Depeche Mode shirt and a black compression shirt beneath. “Wouldn’t you also be cold?”
“I’m used to it.” She shrugs. “Come on. Take the jacket. Don’t be stubborn.”
The jacket does look cozy. So you take it, your fingers brushing against her own, and you place the jacket on your shoulders. “It’s a shame. If I was your situationship, I wouldn’t leave you for another average white guy.” She takes a step closer and you can feel her body heat.
“Really?” You raise your eyebrows. “I don’t know. People love average white guys. That’s the whole point of the white boy of the month trend!”
Ash clicks her tongue against the roof of her mouth. “People are…shortsighted, I guess we’ll say.” Her hand cups your face. You blink. Shivers run down your spine. “They don’t realize they have someone awesome in front of them.”
“And…are you…” You lean closer. “Are you saying…you’re not shortsighted?”
“I’m just saying…I appreciate people as they are.”
Your brain can’t process the sudden physical sensation of warmth against your lips. Ash’s lips on yours, her hand holding your face in place so she can set a sensual rhythm. Your stomach churns, your heart feels like it’s going to burst from your rib cage. When you breathe in, you can smell the scent of bergamot and sweet oranges lingering on her clothes. It’s a little overwhelming actually.
The kiss itself is overwhelming.
You pull away, breathing heavy, face hot. You might collapse. Ash looks at you, your lips parted, and there’s a flash of disappointment in her face. “Shit. I’m sorry.” She says immediately, pulling back. You already miss her body heat. “I shouldn’t have assumed—”
“No! No!” You grab her other wrist and pull her back towards you. “I…Sorry. I just…I haven’t kissed someone in a while.” You swallow. “A-And…” Ash looks at you expectantly, but there’s a sad expectation reflecting in her eyes. It’s as if she’s expecting you to reject her.
Who would reject her?
“You’re the first person in a while. And I…I liked it.”
Those sad expectations leave her eyes, replaced with a sparkle that mixed hope and suggestion. “So…do you want ano—”
You kiss her again before she can finish her question. You add more pressure to the kiss and some more passion. Ash melts beneath your touch, pulling you closer with one hand resting on the side of your neck and the other resting at your hip. She enjoys that you taste of Sprite. Her teeth gently bite down on your bottom lip and pull, causing you to gasp. Your back stiffens from the shiver that runs up along it, your hands beginning to slide along Ash’s sides. Your other hand goes to the back of her neck, gently wrapping some of her hair around your finger.
Ash finally pulls away, her breathing heavy, her chest moving up and down. “Do you…want to get out of here?” She asks.
“I…” You think back to your friends. “I shouldn’t—”
“You absolutely should!”
Both you and Ash nearly jump. You both look, seeing Myung-Jun taking a hit from her vape and blowing. “MJ! H-How long have you been out here!” Your voice cracks as you speak, only furthering the embarrassment of getting caught making out with a girl you just met.
“Sorry, sorry. I didn’t want to interrupt.” The Korean girl giggles. “Go have fun (Y/N). Just text me when you get back to our dorm. If you get back.” She raises her eyebrows suggestively.
“I’m…W-What about you? And being your sober friend?”
“(Y/N), I’m smarter than that. We have multiple sober friends. Besides, Kimberly and Bela are here. They can take care of me.”
You furrow your brows, thinking. “Since when…” You shake your head. “Okay. Fine. Text me updates okay?”
“Okay~” Myung-Jun winks at you, taking another hit from her vape and then sauntering back into the frat house.
You lean your head against the wall of the house, groaning a little bit. Ash can’t help but let out a small laugh. “Don’t look so embarrassed.” She says.
“I’m not embarrassed.” You look down at her.
“I think your face says differently.” Ash grabs your hand, intertwining her fingers with yours. And you let her pull you off the wall and take you back to her dorm.
You ended up submitting your paper late. Thank god for having a chill professor.

Summary:
In the aftermath of Furina's fall from grace as the Hydro Archon, she faces the challenges of adapting to a mundane human life. As she navigates the complexities of being a regular citizen, she learns that with former fame comes potential danger. When she finds herself in trouble, who will be there to answer her call for help?
Read on Ao3
It had been nearly a year since Furina had fallen from grace as archon and began living her life as a normal human. The events of her trial had come and gone, and she was trying her best to adapt to the mundane banality of what it took to make her way in the world not as the God of Hydro, but as plain and simple Furina.
“Lady Furina…”
“Neuvillette, I don’t know how many times I have to tell you. It’s just Furina now. There’s no need for formalities. I’m no different than any other citizen of Fontaine.”
“Fine. Furina. You must listen to me. Just because you are no longer archon, it doesn’t mean you can go about your business and throw caution to the wind,” he chastised as he threw down that morning’s copy of The Steambird.
“Have you seen the front page today? I’m doing my best to bring these criminals to justice, but few seem to respect me as much as they once revered you.”
She had indeed heard the rate of petty crime had increased in the wake of her reign. Chalking it up to the growing pains of a nation looking to find its footing once more, Furina didn’t have time to worry about maybes and what-ifs. It wasn’t her fault the only time she could take care of her errands was after the sun went down. In a way, she was still a celebrity and found it awkward and difficult to turn people’s requests for a photo or autograph down.
“I sincerely appreciate your concern, oh great Hydro Sovereign,” she said with a sad smile. “But I need to learn how to navigate my new normal now. I’m tough. I’ve been through so much this past year I’d feel sorry for the sad sap who decided to test me on my weekly grocery run. Please. Take heart. I’ve got this.”
Neuvillette heaved a heavy sigh. “I understand that, Lad-…Furina. But I need you to be about your senses, do you understand me? I cannot always be there to protect you.”
She gave his hand a reassuring pat. “I’ll do my best, friend. Now if you’ll excuse me, macaroni is on sale today and I’d be livid if I got to the food merchants after they closed up shop for the day. Good day.”
Furina exited his office, waving to the few remaining melusines on duty, and promptly realized she had left her wallet at home. Cursing herself, she made her way back to her apartment in the dark, streetlights flickering with a flame that made her heart flutter.
Surprisingly the first person to come visit her after all was said and done was the Knave. Now that she had nothing to hide from Arlecchino, she was no longer frightened by her. What was the worst she could do? The answer, as it turned out, was fall in love. Furina was tired. Tired of the theatrics. Tired of putting on a show. Tired of pretending to be something - someone - she was not.
It had started as nothing more than a one-night stand. The Knave was in Fontaine on business and Furina was lonely. She had come to apologize for how she had treated her without knowing the full story. The former archon was desperate to feel something, anything, and Arlecchino carried herself with such confidence there was no way she could fight the desire to let someone else take control for a change.
Standing in the sparse glow of the window of her apartment, she felt her cheeks warm as she remembered the events of that night. How big her hands were compared to her own. The way she held her with such grace while still vigorously taking what she wanted. The heat of her lips searing into her skin, her teeth marking her possessively. She swallowed hard as she replayed the events like a film in her head.
And then everything went dark.
Arlecchino sat in her office at the House of the Hearth, a steady throbbing growing in both of her temples. Physical work was fine. She actually relished any chance she got to shadow those who were of interest to the Fatui. What she couldn’t stand was paperwork. So much so it tended to pile up on her desk when she was out doing said physical work.
The scratch of her pen as she signed her name time after time after time was starting to drive her mad. Her hand moved on autopilot, her head elsewhere. How she wished the sound could be replaced by the sweet innocence of Furina’s whimpers caused by her touch. The way she looked at her with those doe-like eyes so trusting and vulnerable. Her mouth moving on hers so eager to learn and please.
The nib of her quill was finally disrupted by the slam of her study doors. The Knave looked up angrily, her eyes burning with irritation. She had specifically requested she not be bothered unless it was a life-or-death situation.
“Lynette…I thought I told you-“ The look on the girl’s face took her aback. She was never one to get overly emotional about, well, anything.
“Father! Lady Furina’s been kidnapped!”
The irritation borne from interruption had evolved into pure rage. “…what?”
“Lyney and Freminet just came back from shopping and said officers were stationed everywhere. They ran into Clorinde and she said they’ve been searching nonstop!”
Snatching her cloak from the rack behind her chair, she rushed out of the office without a word.
————————
Furina could hear the deep whispers of her captors as they discussed plans she couldn’t quite make out. She concentrated on regulating her breathing as she tried to remain calm. Without a vision, she was powerless. Never had she lamented her lost status as archon until now.
The back of her head was tender. One clean hit and she went under. Straining her senses, she tried to determine through sound, smell, and feel where they could have possibly taken her. The distant crash of waves and the salty scent of the sea hinted at the fact she must not be too far from home.
Surely they’ve noticed I’m missing by now…right? Someone…Neuvillette, Clorinde, even Navia…certainly someone must have sensed something wasn’t right.
Immediately she jumped to the conclusion her life was over. Perhaps it was overzealous fanatics who felt betrayed after they discovered the truth about her godhood. Regardless of whatever the situation was, there was no way she was making it out of this alive. And then…her frantic thoughts were interrupted by an earthshattering explosion.
Bloodcurdling screams echoed through what she could only guess was a cave by the ocean. What she heard next made her heart soar.
“Don’t you fucking touch her, you piece of shit!” She’d recognize that voice anywhere. Even after only one night, the unique timbre of Arlecchino’s words shook her to her core. The Knave snatched one of the men by the collar of his shirt.
“Please! Please, no! Have mercy! We only thought we might be able to get some ransom money for her. I swear to the archons we haven’t done anything to her!”
“Shut the FUCK up you useless excuse for a human being,” she spat venomously. “I don’t give a damn what your plan was. Where. Is. She?”
“Just a bit deeper. Keep going, we’re not hiding anyth-“ His answer was cut short as she bashed his head against the wall.
“A-Arlecchino? Is that you?” As hard as she tried to keep her voice steady, she couldn’t stop herself from shaking. “Arlecchino! Please! Help! I’m here! Hurry!”
Swift footfalls thudded against damp stone. The Knave gingerly undid the knot of her blindfold, careful to avoid her injury, and her vision exploded with light. Her tears obscured the face of her savior.
“Furina, it’s alright. I’m here. You’re ok. Nobody’s left,” she explained. Under her breath she muttered, “I made sure of it.”
She tumbled forward into her arms, her tiny, frail body shaking. If the Knave had gripped her any harder, she feared she might break her. “H-h-how? How did you find me?”
Arlecchino let out a wry chuckle. “My dear,” she said as she propped her chin up so she’d look her in the eyes. “I’m a Fatui Harbinger. Do you honestly think anything gets past my network of informants? Now, there will be plenty of time for questions later. Let’s get you home.”
——————
Back at the House of the Hearth, Arlecchino reported to Clorinde the coordinates of the hideout where she had discovered Furina. Closing the door behind her, the sound of the special forces marching off trickled away. The Knave turned to face her.
“Thank you…for saving me,” Furina murmured.
“No need to thank me, Droplet,” she said with a tenderness that surprised the former archon. Arlecchino winced noticeably as she made her way closer. While she was an accomplished and fearsome fighter, her emotions had gotten the better of her this time around and she had suffered a few hits due to the distraction of her search.
“You must let me tend to your injuries,” Furina chastised as she pulled out a chair and gestured for her to sit.
“That’s not necessary. Just a few scratches. I’ll have Lyney assist me later.”
Furina pouted, her blue eyes shimmering intensely. “I insist. It’s the least I can do.”
The Knave let out a sigh of “fine” before shedding her coat and doing as she was asked.
The girl tended to the scratch on her face, carefully cleaning the area and placing a small bandage to mitigate any risk of infection. Arlecchino could feel her fingers trembling as her adrenaline was still in overdrive from the earlier encounter. While she’d never take advantage of her vulnerability, the Knave would be lying to herself if she had said she didn’t find her defenselessness arousing.
“Oh, your leg!” Furina pointed to a stain on Arlecchino’s slacks. A light blush colored her cheeks. “Would you mind removing these so I can patch you up?”
The Knave swallowed reluctantly. Allowing someone else to be in command was an entirely new sensation. Her heart pounded in her chest. Unzipping her pants, she slid them down and stepped out of them. The former archon once again treated the area with shaking hands.
Grabbing Furina’s wrist (perhaps a bit too tightly), she calmly stated, “Furina, darling, you’re safe now. Please…try to calm down. I’ve told the police force everything and ensured I…eliminated any immediate threat.”
Arlecchino looked her in the eyes and was perplexed by the emotions she sensed. Wait…this isn’t fear…this is…
Her contemplation was interrupted by a soft pair of lips attacking her own. There was no sign of hesitation in her movements as her mouth collided against hers. “Archons…I want you…so badly Knave…”
Fuck self-control. Arlecchino growled in response as Furina deepened the kiss. Her lips danced clumsily down her neck, the Knave tilting her head to give her clearer access. “Droplet…are you sure?” She asked breathlessly.
Furina moved to straddle her lap. “Yes,” she breathed before crashing into her once more. Sliding her tongue across the Knave’s, her nimble fingers made quick work of the buttons on her shirt.
“Would it kill you to dress a little less, oh I don’t know, fashionable? Too many fucking buttons,” the girl huffed between kisses.
Arlecchino chuckled in response. “My, it’s certainly easy to get you riled up, hmm? Next time I’ll keep the jacket on and make you really work for it.”
Heaving a sigh of relief as she undid the last latch, Furina tossed the shirt aside and trailed her lips to her breasts. She savored the taste of her skin, licking her nipple and then blowing cool air across it to get it to rise.
Her hand slid down Arlecchino’s toned stomach and into her lacy black panties. Tracing her lips, she gathered her arousal on her fingertips and glided them gently across her clit. The Knave bucked her hips in response to Furina’s delicate touch.
“Seems I’m not the only one the adrenaline was getting to,” Furina chuckled as she brought her soaked fingers to her lips and sucked.
Arlecchino moaned in response to the wanton action. What’s gotten into her? Surely she hasn’t had much practice...The thought of anyone else laying a finger on her made her seethe with jealousy. Although they had only been together like this once before, Furina was different this time and it was driving her mad with lust.
She hopped off her lap and dropped to her knees in front of her, slowly spreading her legs to kneel between them. Gingerly kissing the scratch on her thigh, the Knave flinched before she felt her move to do the same on the other. Furina pulled her panties to the side before swirling her tongue on her sensitive bud.
“Ah…Furina!” She stifled herself from letting out an embarrassingly loud moan through gritted teeth.
Pleased with the response, she continued to suck as she slid two fingers into her. Arlecchino bucked against her face in rhythm with her movements. Sliding her hands into Furina’s hair, she pulled her as close as she could. The former archon could feel her contracting against her, pulled out her fingers, and replaced them with her tongue. Grabbing the Knave’s hips, she drew her closer as she darted her tongue in and out of her. With a few more thrusts, the woman crumbled under Furina’s ministrations.
Slick covered her face as she watched Arlecchino breathe heavily. Her gaze snapped back to Furina’s and there was something about the situation that made the girl feel as if she were a rabbit cornered by a starving wolf.
“While that was delightful, you must tell me - where did you learn to do that? Surely you haven’t been using your newfound freedom to go around fucking anything you please?”
Furina was taken aback. “H-how could you think that? I only wanted to thank you for what you did. And for your information - not that it’s any of your business - I haven’t been with anyone since that night…”
Arlecchino relaxed noticeably. Get ahold of yourself, woman. You didn’t have an agreement of exclusivity. She’s an adult and can do what she wants.
A peal of high-pitched laughter echoed through the room. “Oh my archons! Are you…you’re jealous, aren’t you? Oh, that’s rich!” She grabbed her stomach as she tried to stop herself from cackling. “The big, bad Fatui Harbinger is afraid I might have learned a few tricks from someone else, hmm?”
The Knave stood abruptly and gripped her by the neck. “I’ll take that to mean you’re just well-read. Perhaps some new light novels imported from Inazuma? You must have a lot of time to kill now that you’re free.” She forced the girl to walk backward until she was caught between her and the bookshelf in her study.
“Let me make myself clear,” she whispered, deadly serious. “You. Are. Mine.” Wedging her leg between the girl’s thighs, Furina panted heavily. “You say you want to thank me? Then be a good girl and fuck yourself.”
“…w-what?”
“Did I stutter, Ms. Furina? You’ll shove your panties to the side and ride my thigh until you come while I watch. Understood?”
Furina swallowed hard before nodding her head. Lifting her skirt, Arlecchino was rewarded with the sight of sky-blue silk lingerie. She licked her lips hungrily as the girl moved them, a wet line already staining the front and dripping onto her exposed skin.
She’s not fooling anyone. She wants to be wanted. I’m simply giving her what she needs.
“Very good. Now…move,” Arlecchino commanded.
Furina began to rock back and forth against her while keeping eye contact. The steady rhythm she created moved in time with their breathing, connecting them in a way so intimate it made the Knave shutter. It was her turn to feel fear…the fear of ever having to share her with anyone else. Furina was submitting herself, obeying completely. It was like a drug to Arlecchino and she would never be able to live without it again.
The Knave closed the distance between them, capturing her lips. Furina moaned into her mouth as she increased the speed of her hips. The groan the Knave let out betrayed her feelings as she bit her bottom lip.
“Fuck…Knave…are you…happy now?”
“I won’t be happy until I possess you, body and soul,” she replied, her hands now gripping her hips. Arlecchino took over, moving her at a pace she alone controlled. “Didn’t I tell you you’re mine? You’ll come when I say you can.”
Furina whined in frustration. “Please…”
“Please what, Droplet? Ask properly.”
“Please…Father.”
Arlecchino almost forgot to breathe.
“Good girl. Lose control. You have my permission.”
Her hips jerked wildly, bringing her to orgasm fast and furiously. Spent, she collapsed against the Knave. Arlecchino lifted her small body with ease and brought her to the bedroom adjacent to her study. Laying her down on the plush mattress, she covered her with blankets Furina surmised must have cost more than what she personally made in at least a month.
Kissing the top of her head, the Knave stroked her hair as she sat next to her. “You’ve had quite the day. I think it might be best for you to get some rest now.” She was surprised to feel the former archon’s hand reach for hers.
“I think I’d be able to rest better if you’d join me. Am I not yours now?”
An uncharacteristically warm smile graced the woman’s lips. “Touché, Droplet. I suppose I could use some sleep myself. It’s not every day one rescues an archon, after all.”
“Former archon,” Furina corrected her somberly.
Arlecchino looked deeply into her eyes, as blue as the Fontainian ocean. “You’ll always be my archon, Furina.”

I have an idea for pedro × reader
They get into a fight about something and the reader leaves the house . She comes back hours later and see pedro worried and angry searching for her for hours so he is mad but they finally make up . ( romantic ending please)
I’ve seen another person writing one similar request. I like the idea ! I actually like better what I wrote here than the smut (if we can even call it that) I wrote last night 😂 is this romantic enough at the end?
I’m coming back to my place tomorrow hopefully I’ll feel better than this past week at my parents!
——————————————————————————————
You were sitting on the couch, watching tv when your phone rang. Pedro was in the kitchen, cleaning the dishes from lunch. You got up, thinking your phone was on the coffee table, or even the couch, but nothing.
“P? Have you seen my phone?” He turned around, looking for it.
“Yes on the counter”
“Thanks!” You said, grabbing your phone. It was work. Pedro might have seen it too because of what he said.
“Why is your work calling you on a Sunday afternoon?” You simply shrugged, showing him that you didn’t know why. But you actually knew why. You were on a big project. You had to organize a presentation, prepare an entire event on it, and at the same time, write at least twenty pages about it. You loved you job, you really did, but you hated those periods because you had to do everything alone. You had no coworkers on this, it was a one person project.
Every month works like that. Each month it’s a different person, thank god you are around twenty to work there, but it obviously had to be you at some point. Pedro knew how important it was for you, but he didn’t like how nervous and stressed out your were. You became a workaholic during this month, spending most of your time working, and doing nothing else.
It didn’t help knowing that it was actually a slow month for Pedro too. He didn’t have anything big, just a couple of interviews and photo shoots here and there. He had a lot of free time, but that wasn’t your case. Pedro was being very nice about it, you had to put with his crazy schedule the rest of the year, he could live with it for you just for a month. It was hard, but manageable. You also made a deal. Next weekend, you were going out. He found a tiny cabin lost in the woods, and thought it would be a good way to disconnect a little. So he rented it for next week.
You hoped you didn’t get the phone call you were actually having. Because even if you knew it was about your project, you didn’t know that they had move your schedule. Instead of having two weeks to finalize everything, and write your report, you only had one. They apparently had to, they had no choice, “corporate took their decision”. Sure. And it had to be you. So now, you had to find a way to tell Pedro that you couldn’t leave next week, because the event was now on Saturday.
He must have sensed it. Probably the way you walked back to the kitchen, the way you were playing with your phone, how you avoid eye contact, and how your mood changed.
“Bad news right?” You nodded. You leaned on the counter behind him, playing with your phone. He wasn’t even looking at you anymore.
“They changed my schedule” now you were staring at him, waiting for any kind of reaction, but nothing. He didn’t realize it was about next weekend. “The event is now next week” he finally turned around, looking at you.
“Are you going to be okay?” You were confused
“I’m a little behind but I think I’ll manage, but- are you?”
“Me? Yeah why?”
“My event. Is next week.. end” he suddenly stared at you
“Next Saturday?”
“Yes”
“And you said yes”
“I didn’t really have the choice”
“Why?”
“Corporate, apparently”
“That’s just some lame excuses. So what’s the real reason?”
“I don’t know that’s what they told me!”
“You didn’t ask?” Pedro was getting really annoyed. His voice got a little bit lower, but louder.
“I tried!”
“I didn’t really hear you try”
“Why are you mad at me? It’s not my fault!”
“You could have said no maybe?”
“Oh yeah so they could fire me and find someone else to do my job?”
“They would not fire you for that”
“Oh yes they would! It’s not acting here, I can’t do whatever I want, there are rules”
“Because there are not in my career?”
“I never said that!” The fight was going nowhere, you were just pissed and saying the first thing coming to your mind. It didn’t really make sense, for the both of you, but you just went with it anyway.
“Can’t you call them back?”
“For what? They chose to move the event one week sooner. I just have to get ready for it”
“But we rented”
“Can’t you call them?”
“What if I don’t want to?” Pedro was getting sassy
“And what if I don’t want to?” You crossed your arms “why do we have to do what you want, never what I want?” Pedro didn’t say anything, you couldn’t stop staring at him. “You know how much I love my job. And he’ll, you’re the one always on the move, working your ass off 24/7, and you don’t hear me complaining! I do it for one month and you can’t deal with it?” That’s when you had enough. You didn’t want to hear what he had to say. You let go of your phone and left towards the door.
“Where are you going?” You didn’t say anything. You grabbed your keys, and just left the house. “Y/n wait!” Pedro ran outside, but you were already in your car, leaving the house.
You drove for what seemed forever, not even knowing where you were going. You kind of dissociated the entire time. You finally stopped, feeling thirsty. After buying an iced coffee, you went back to your car, thinking. You and Pedro never really fought. They were some misunderstandings sometimes, some disagreements, but never big fights like that one.
It is true that you never said anything while Pedro was away filming or doing press tour or interviews or whatever. But you realized that’s because he was always calling you, sending you some gifts if he was in another country, or even making you fly to him every time you could. Maybe you needed to find more time for him too, to find a way to prioritize him like he did with you.
While you were away, Pedro was pacing in the house. Feeling a huge amount of guilt. He got scared he pushed you away too much, that it was your last straw, that you were leaving for good. After thinking, he found his reaction childish. So what, you were working a lot for a short amount of time and he couldn’t handle it? After everything you went through for him? The rent was just an excuse. Oh the many times he had to delay dinner, the dates you never had because he had to film longer than expected. Maybe you should wait for y/n’s project to be over before renting anything.
At some point he decided to call you. But after hearing your phone on the counter, he got pissed. The only time you forget to take your phone with you. What if something happens? An accident? Anything! He would not know.
So he grabbed his keys, and decided to go look for you. He first went to your favorite place, a spot he had found outside of town, hoping finding you, but nothing. He then went to your best friend’s house, but they were no cars, so you weren’t there. He went to the planetarium, he remembered how you loved watching stars, and how much you were amused by the animation they had of the planets, but you were nowhere to be found.
He decided to go back home, you could be anywhere, the city was to big to find you. At some point you had to come back, so it would be better to wait at home. Once he was there, again, he couldn’t stop pacing. The sun was setting, and you were still not back. He kept looking at your phone, wishing you had taken it. He also smoked a lot, being extremely anxious.
Finally you came back home, around 8pm, more 9pm actually. Pedro didn’t eat, neither did you. You got tired driving around, the anger had left your body, you were calmer so you decided to come back. You barely entered the house that Pedro ran to you, and hugged you tight.
“Oh thank god you’re back” he whispered. You felt guilty, leaving like that. “I thought something happened, you didn’t have your phone, I looked everywhere for you” you parted. He played with your hair, looking at you anxiously
“I’m sorry, I needed some air, and I got coffee and just kept driving arou- wait you said you looked for me?”
“Yes! I went to your favorite places, but I didn’t find you”
“I’m sorry” you said hugging him again. “I shouldn’t have left like that”
“Yes please do not do that next time. I think we both overreacted on this one, but don’t scare me like that please”
“I’m sorry” you stayed silent for a few seconds. “And you were right I’m sorry”
“No I wasn’t, I’m never here, I work way too much, for once it’s your turn, I should handle it, it’s just that you really need it, and I miss you”
“I’m sorry, I miss you too” you we’re still hugging each other. “But also, I should be able to find time for you, like you always do for me”
“Then it’s settled, no more complaining and more time for us” you looked at each other smiling
“Yes. I love you too much to fight over stupid things like this”
“I couldn’t agree more” he said, caressing your back with his right hand, while the other was on your cheek. Pedro kissed your forehead. “And I love you more” you blushed
“Did you eat?”
“Nope”
“Good. Because I’m starving”
“Do you feel like cooking?”
“Hell no”
“Uber?”
“You read my mind” you both ordered your food, and devoured it in front of a movie on the couch, sitting next to each other.
Sometimes when you’re both worked up it’s hard not to lash out on the first person you see. Guess you both did that to each other. But you felt better, you both did. Releasing this tension.
You spent the evening chilling like that, not thinking about the extremely hard week coming for you, just enjoying your time with your boyfriend, in your own bubble. Nothing else mattered at the moment.

The Last Hello | Mat Barzal
summary: it’s been two months since you last saw Mat. but what happens when you are both in important roles in the event and Mat had been doing som personal evaluating.
request: yes/no
warnings: sad Mat, no real ending, slight use of strong language
word count:3.1k
authors note/ ending went to crap as I am tried so pls excuse any typos cause this wasn’t beta read. This is sort of a part two for The Last Goodbye, but I won’t make a series as this is the last part. both parts came be read separately but they make more sense in the way suggested (pt 1 then pt2). To the person who wanted Wedding Mat I didn’t know if you had a preference for whether or not he was the groom. So if I’ve gotten it majorly wrong just let me know and I’ll write you a new piece!
pt 1
You wondered if you would have been seen as a bitch if you didn’t show up.
Sure you were the maid of honour, and sure you had said you could survive seeing Mat for a whole week again but that didn’t mean that you thought you could actually do it.
You hadn’t seen Mat in over two months after timing the pick-up of your stuff in his apartment whilst he was in New Jersey you were physically officially gone. It was the worst reality check that Mat could have ever come home to, the first sign was when your hat wasn’t on its hook by the door anymore and it only went down hill from there. The Canadian had contemplated all of the different ways to talk to you, he had called all of your friends and the ones who did pick up said you needed space. He even sat at your favourite coffee shop every morning for a week until one of the baristas who had seen the two of you in there plenty of times eventually told him that you started getting your coffees delivered to work and that’s why you hadn’t been in there.
It had been the hardest two and a half months of your life. When the islanders were knocked out of the cup you wanted to call him, when you saw a cat that reminded you of Marley. The ginger cat you snuck into your dorm and then had to give to Mat when your RA found out about him. That led to three happy years where you were proud cat parents before Marley got sick causing you two to have to put him to sleep, leading to a week of near none stop tears from you both. When you saw a couple at your favourite table at the local Korean BBQ place you wanted to tell him as it was an ongoing joke between the two of you. But your brain always told your heart to forget about it as there was no chance you were going to do that to yourself. Sure you regretted breaking up with him after you had some time to think about it, but you really never thought that he’d ever take you back. And besides with how things ended you knew that you missed the old Mat, not the current one who value love in the way that you did. Staying in New York was tough on your heart so you opted to moving further into the city where you were now in Rangers territory. Your one bedroom apartment was above this nice old lady who had three cats who all seemed to adore you. Felix the grey tabby cat made daily trips up the stairs to come say hello to you where he got his daily dose of cuddles from you. The best part about Margret though was that she knew nothing about hockey so you turned into an open good about your breakup with Mat.
It was refreshing being able to just vent to a totally outside party about it all “know you remember that if he gives you any shit you punch him okay,” Margaret’s words drew a laugh from your lips.
You loved how blunt she was “and then I’ll give him a second one and say it’s from you,” you nodded as you pulled her into a hug “thank you,” not only had she taken you to the airport but she had also convinced you to go to the wedding. Her words called you out for being a bad friend at the fact that you even considered not going just because of a boy. Whilst Mat was a little bit more than just some boy to you, you understood what she meant and were quick to book your flight to Kelowna just after that.
Sure you were disappointed that you weren’t going to make it to the bridal shower but you were swamped at work and Lenasia was just grateful that you could come to the wedding.
You and Mat had been asked to be the maid of honour and best man respectively as your friendship with the couple had gone on for years. It came as a shock when you announce that you and Mat had broken up but when both she and Ethan had confirmed with both of you that you were comfortable being around the other during the big day, wedding plans were quick to continue on.
After the long flight you thanked your taxi driver as you got out of the car “just when I thought you wouldn’t show up.” Ethan joked as he had seen your taxi pull into the street a minute ago from the kitchen window.
You let out a playful scoff “miss my Gracie Bear too much for that.” You pretty much stepped into the role of playful aunt whenever you saw his daughter. It was aided by the fact that she seemed to adore you “she’s just woken up from a nap,” he explained as he pulled you into a hug.
It felt weird for him as he had never heard your side of the break up from you. Sure Lenasia had relaid information onto him after you called her in tears one night, so he knew that you were just as broken as Mat was but it was tough not being able to say anything to either one of you about the other. The soon to be married couple wanted to meddle but they knew that it was best if they kept their noses out of it all “you better not be hiding my maid of honour E!” Lenasia called out causing you to giggle “where’s my beautiful bride?” You asked as you made your way into the cabin.
Your relationship with the girl has blossomed over the fact that your boyfriends played on the same team, when they went separate ways you still remained in touch never letting your friendship burn out.
Mat thought he was dreaming when he saw you walk in, the way you hugged Lenasia placing a kiss on her cheek before you picked up Gracie and proceeded to smother her in kisses eliciting a high pitched giggle from the baby. You looked good, there was no doubt about it. You had cut your hair and had even gotten those highlights that you had been contemplating on for like four years.
When the Canadian locked eyes with you everyone seemed to notice it. Even Gracie did as she made a little noise of complaint that she wasn’t your center of attention. Not wanting to be weird you let your face form a soft smile “why don’t I show you to your room,” Lenasia offered as she motioned to you to follow her.
Ethan watched as the three of you left as you still had Gracie in your arms “you okay bro?” He asked as he tapped Mats arm. That was the weirdest thing he had like ever seen the boy so “yeah,” the Islanders player nodded as he thought he was going to throw up. The idea of seeing you again was something that he once looked forward to, still desperate to get back with you Mat hadn’t accepted the fact that you two had broken up. Actually seeing you felt like a whole different territory.
A wave of nerves came over you as you guys walked past more bedrooms “since my cousin decided to come you have two options, there is a bed in Gracie’s room or-” Lenasia sent you an apologetic look as she felt bad for the situation you had been put into “it looks like we’re roomies.” You had cut her off because you knew the second option involved Mat, she hadn’t given any signs to indicate that matter but somehow in your heart you knew that he was apart of the unsaid statement.
You looked down to the clothes you were wearing and realised that you were in need of a change “I’ll let you take her whilst I go freshen up?” You asked as you held Gracie out for her mother to grab.
The first real moment of silence you got came and hit you like a truck. With the amount of unknown girls that were there you were glad that none of them were Mats date. Sure it didn’t mean that he was single, but it meant you didn’t have to watch him get all cozy with another girl.
Your body practically collapsed onto the bed as you were in need of a nap. The eight hour plane ride was finally catching up to you. But just as you were about to doze off into a peaceful slumber you heard that ever so familiar laugh “you look like you’ve just died,” Mat pointed out as he leaned against the frame of your door.
You rolled onto your side to look at him “been a long day,” you confessed as you had been up since five in the morning due to nerves.
What surprised you the most was the way Mat walked into the room and sat in the little arm chair that faced your bed. He wanted to talk but the words were not things that he could find “how were the parties?” You asked as you propped your head up by your hands.
It actually hurt Mat that you hadn’t asked him about himself and he meant that in the least conceited way possible. Maybe it was the fault of his brain or his heart but he truly thought that you could have at least asked how he was “they both went down successfully.” He nodded as he rubbed his chin feeling the stubble that was being to grow through.
You always loved it when Mat had a beard, it was a tradition at one point that if the Islanders made it into the playoffs that he’d let his beard grow for the duration of the teams time in the playoffs.
It might have sounded absurd but the action from the boy made your thighs clench “thanks for picking up my slack when I was gone.” You yawned as you smiled at him.
The Canadian watched as you rested your head on the soft padding that was your duvet “I’ll let you get some sleep,” his voice was soft as he pulled your blanket over you.
The way you mumbled a small thank you before you shut your eyes warmed Mats heart “I love you,” he whispered making sure that you were all tucked in before he left you.
So what he didn’t hear was how you said the same words back just as he walked out of your bedroom letting your sleep consume you.
Your love for Gracie was seriously being question by the way she continued to babble whilst the two of you were meant to be asleep “Gracie Bear please so me a real one and just go to sleep,” you pleaded as you knew that you were going to have to be awake early tomorrow for the long and hectic day that stood ahead.
When your requests went ignored you let out a sigh running your fingers through your hair. You really didn’t want to have to do it but if you wanted any chance of a solid night of sleep then you clearly had no choice.
So you muttered things to yourself as you grabbed your phone charger before you left your room making sure to kiss Gracie’s head on your way out. The way to Mats room was short, Lenasia had shown you where it was just in case you needed it. The thing that took the most time was mustering up the courage to actually knock on that door, it took three soft knocks on the door before Mat shuffled out of bed and opened the door.
Due to the height difference you were met with his chest “what’s up?” He asked as he let out a yawn surprised to see you there.
You rocked on the balls of your feet “can I sleep in here tonight?” You cocked your head hoping he’d say yes “Gracie won’t stop talking.” You added as you rubbed your eyes.
The boy laughed sure,” he nodded as he motioned to you to come in.
The sight of his room made your heart feel at ease. The two single beds had the left one untouched and the right was where he clearly slept. He never used to have a side of the bed where he slept but when he learnt that you took the left side his only option was to become a right side sleeper.
You sat on what was now your bed as you just stared at the roof. It wasn’t often that you experienced being left speechless given that you were talkative by nature “I’m sorry,” Mat blurted out causing you to lift your head as you looked at him.
When he saw that you were confused he had to continue “for everything I did.” He shoved his hands into his sweatpants as he sat on his own bed.
All you could do was nod “you didn’t so anything wrong Mat.” You sighed as it was the truth. If he had yelled at you or cheated on you it would have made the end of your relationship not feel as forced.
Mat had spent the last few months reflecting “I’m sorry for what I didn’t do then,” he knew that it probably sounded better as your main reason what you had shared for breaking up was the fact that he no longer showed you love.
A smile formed on your lips “thank you,” was all that you could get out as you fiddled with the necklace around your neck.
You felt bare without your M necklace so once you gave it back to him you were quick to get a replacement chain as you needed something on your neck “we should probably go to sleep,” the hockey player announced as he looked at the digital alarm clock that sat on the table between you.
Mat simply hoped that the silence in the dark would give him more time to wrack his brain for things to say to you. Somehow he had all the time in the world whilst having none of the words.
A sigh fell from your lips “goodnight Mat,” you mumbled as you rolled over to let the sleep consume you.
Surprisingly the wedding was going really well. The ceremony was beautiful, you walked out to see Mat and swore you were going to cry but you kept it in because you knew that you’d wind up crying later.
Which was totally true, your tears struck in the middle of the couples speeches. Thankfully for you though you were sat next to Mat after two of the bridesmaids that were sat on either side of you wanted to sit next to each other. The Canadian noticed the sniffle you had as the tears welled up in your eyes, he was quick to lock his hand with yours “you okay?” He murmured into your ear as he shot you a concerned look.
You nodded as you raised your fingers to your face making sure to catch the tears that fell before they ruined your makeup “yeah,” you sighed “that was just really cute.” your confession caused him to chuckle. It hurt you both though because deep down inside as you listened to Ethan make his undying love speech to Lenasia, you both thought about Mat being in his shoes and you being in Lenasias. Your wedding although as hypothetical as it was, it was still something that both of you had thought out in depth having conversations and everything. The type of venue all the way down to the cake had been decided on. Mat would never intend on telling you this but he’s even had your engagement ring ready to go for the last ten months.
He was meant to propose on your big Valentine’s Day bash but with his injury that trip got canceled and so did your proposal.
The air between you two felt dense as people began to separate as they made their ways to the dance floor.
You decided to stay back was you had Gracie on your lap and as a result Mat stayed with you.
It wasn’t something that you expected him to do but nevertheless you appreciated it “she likes your bracelet,” the Canadian pointed out as he smiled.
Gracie made a string of noises before she looked up at the girl “she likes the fact that it’s shiny,” you explained shaking your head as you made funny faces at the girl.
Mat always knew that you were going to be a great mother “always thought you’d be like that to our kids.” He let his filter disappear as it caused your eyes to go wide “our?” You repeated as you hoped you had done so indeed.
You smiled as he nodded “we’d have a girl and a boy.” You had both agreed that you would have a minimum of two children as you both grew up with siblings and felt like if you were to have a child that they should do the same.
This rush of the feeling of content waved through your body “I want you to ask me again.” After only getting two hours of sleep due to the fact that he had been racking his brain for what to say, he had finally come up with the perfect answer.
Despite the not contact for two months, you knew exactly what he was talking about. “Do you love me?” You asked as you took a deep breath.
Whilst you knew that his answer was more than likely yes or else he wouldn’t have told you to ask him, you still felt like his answer might have been like his previous one.
Mat turned his chair so that he could face you “I love you so much that you’re the first thing that I want to see when I wake up and the last thing I want to think of when I go to sleep.” Your heart practically melted at the confession “you are my life, my happy and my world all in one, so I’m sorry I made you feel less than.” Usually be would have stopped with the first co session. Doing things like the second one were meant to be for massive moments.
And a massive moment is what this was.
Your Mat was officially back.

WIP FRIDAY
I apologize for getting this out two days late, I’ve been busy with lots of packing and events! But I have a little reprieve, so I wanted to post another WIP; this one is from Heart Full, Bowl Empty.
BE AWARE THAT THIS SEGMENT INVOLVES A CONVERSATION REVOLVING AROUND UNWILLING BUT INTENTIONAL STARVATION. I know there are people who say they can’t read this fic because of themes like this, so be aware of this before reading this WIP!!
I included this snippet in today’s WIP because I have like three versions of the entire segment this snippet is from. I feel like it’s a really important segment with a really important conversation, and I’ve had a hard time balancing all the emotions the way I want to between Ingo and Akari, with frustration, sadness, anger, and empathy, to realistically get them to the resolution I want at the end of it.
The final version will probably only include a few parts from this particular segment.
Enjoy!!
—————
“I knew it! You’re doing it again!” Akari’s eyebrows scrunched, trying to understand through the frustration. “You said you wouldn’t!”
“Circumstances will improve soon.” Clearly done with the conversation, that was all Ingo said, but it was confession enough that he had fallen back on his word. Shame contaminated his voice, but if there was any regret, he hid it well.
“No, it won’t!” They were not even half-way through winter yet. “And you know it won’t!”
Ingo said nothing as the kits carefully moved around his slumped form, finding comfortable places to settle around him. She didn’t know if he intended to snuff the conversation out with angered silence, or if he was just too exhausted to care about arguing with her anymore. If it wasn’t for his small occasional signs of movement or acknowledgement, she’d think he was actually sleeping.
Akari carefully stepped into the nesting layers, moving to sit down next to Ingo. She settled with her back against the cavern wall, pulling her knees close as a few kits shuffled around to accommodate her. “You know I’m right.”
Huffing out an irritated sigh and nothing more, it didn’t seem like Ingo had any intentions to engage with her argument anymore.
“You couldn’t even pull yourself up over the ridge,” She prodded at him again, trying to motivate more conversation out of him. “I had to help you!”
“There are many, many factors that go into that.” A reluctant answer, perhaps a reflexive attempt to quell her worry; Ingo feebly rubbed his wrapped hand, almost as a display for his excuse.
“I’ve seen you do more when you’ve been hurt worse.” Akari retorted, a little softer now but still cold.
Ingo’s eyes remained closed, though his hardened expression implied that it came across as more accusatory than she’d intended. But perhaps it was precisely the time to be accusatory.
“Ingo, you’re so tired all the time now – you stopped coming to the training grounds because you just can’t make the trips all the time anymore! And you’re sleeping so much more than you used to, and it’s like you’re always hungry all the time, even though all I see you doing anymore is gathering food!” Akari’s voice grew more jagged as she continued to jab at him, entirely uninterrupted.
It was getting difficult. With Ingo’s tunic still sopping by the bucket, still somewhat red from the exhausted effort of washing out the blood, it could not hide the ribs that pressed out just a little bit more, or help fill out what the waistline had lost under the loosening belt. The abject dread of directly acknowledging that was too much.
“And- and look! You aren’t even willing to hold a conversation with me anymore, and I don’t know if it’s because you just won’t, or because you can’t!” The kits shifted uncomfortably as Akari retreated back into her own frustration instead. “People think you’re sick, Ingo! They’re asking me about you! What are you doing?”
The exhausted man remained where he laid in the nesting material, only moving his hands to rub at his face and sigh — a deep, forced sigh that swelled his side before releasing. Akari almost didn’t think he’d answer her, but with some effort, he propped himself up first onto his elbows, then slumped forward. The teen watched him run shaky fingers through his hair as he sat next to her.
“…I don’t know what I should do.” The guilt. The weary guilt cracked his voice and tore Akari’s anger down to heartache.
#ref for fic#BE AWARE THIS IS DISCUSSING INTENTIONAL BUT UNWILLING STARVATION#tw starvation#just in case#cause I know not everyone vibes with this story#and I’ll say it’s been weird myself returning to these segments I wrote months ago and re-reading them#AND TO BE MORE CAREFUL I talk about a personal situation sort of dealing with this below#a lot has happened in the timeframe of originally writing this and coming back to this#at the end of fall I got very very sick and it lasted well into February#I unwillingly shed thirty-five pounds because I could not eat#and I didn’t notice at all until I stopped and realized just how tight I had to make my work belt#even when family members pointed it out during the holidays when they’d hug me#it wasn’t until someone got very concerned and did something about it that I realized just how bad it was#I’m sure people remember when I mentioned I had gastritis#that’s what all this was I just never really went into detail about how bad it truely was here#so coming back and reading this segment specifically#having written it months before I went through any of this#felt really really weird and a little uncomfortable#I edited Akari’s accusations a little to fit my situation more about a month back#because I did not realize just how much more stuff like this would make you want to sleep#at least in my experience#but it’s been very very just#strange I guess coming back to this#it doesn’t make me want to not work on HFBE anymore it just feels very weird

The numbers of people that I’ve seen blaming Alicent for Jaehaerys death and Helaena future death on the internet are atrocious.
Knowing the brain dead people that are part of this fandom i wasn’t surprised but sure as hell i’m disappointed.Because the writer knew what they were putting her through (again) by deciding to change her role in the whole B&C.When in fact,in the book, she was present during the event and she couldn’t do nothing to help her grandson and daughter.
But yes, sure. It’s always her fault regardless right? Not Daemon who orchestrated the whole thing and,in the book, went directly after a toddler.
People out there telling i should hate Alicent,a girl who was abused,r*ped by an older man, forced to have his children that she had to raise completely alone(she was still a kid herself)because her husband didn’t care about any of them.Who tried to still be friend with Rhaenyra and helping her.A woman that suffered more than any one, that did all for her family and was only a tool in her father hands to gain power.
The same people out there telling me that i should love Daemon,a pedo that groomed his underage niece for years. That went out partying when his nephew died, that brutally murmured his first wife, that had sex with the same niece the night of his second wife funeral and didn’t bothered to reassure his daughters instead. The same man that married his niece the next day and years later choked because she didn’t wanted to follow his orders to move war.The man that likes to r*pe virgins as hobby and would probably be a Maegor 2.0.
Yeah sure, why wouldn’t i choose to like him instead of Alicent who seems to be the evil incarnate in this fandom?
“Trauma is not an excuse!!”
Okay then it shouldn’t be an excuse that Matt Smith is the one that plays Daemon and we think he’s hot.
These are the same people that pull out the “feminist” card whenever they want excuse Rhaenyra for all her idiocies, but apparently i can’t do the same for Alicent.
No matter what people say,Alicent Hightower it wasn’t your fault. They could never make me hate you and i will forever defend you💚

3 headcanons i wrote over the past week. questions provided by @tapalslegacy & @techniiciian 💕 thanks guys!! i'll take more questions if y'all have any!!
WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST CONTRASTS VADER HOLDS IN COMPARISON TO ANAKIN, ASIDE FROM WHAT IS ALREADY SEEN IN CANON?
aside from vader being an individual entity with his own unique thoughts and emotions? quite a few, i’d argue. to clarify, in this alternate universe, anakin and vader are identical twins. they are not clones nor versions of anakin from a different universe, but twin boys carried to term by shmi skywalker. their physical resemblance does not equate to identical thoughts, feelings, or life experiences,
as far as forcenexus/emrys and i have discussed, the events of the phantom menace unfold as usual, but the twins are separated at the age of nine. qui-gon likely favored anakin, as he showed the greatest potential to become a good jedi—emphasis on good.
i’ve thought a lot about why qui-gon didn’t take vader along with him, and i’m sure i could come up with some extremely contrived but reasonable excuses, such as sensing a darkness within vader even at his young age, or qui-gon noticing that vader was not only temperamental but also quick to resort to violence—traits extremely unsuitable for a child already considered too old to train. i could even rationalize his behavior by giving him a righteous justification, such as vader’s standoffish behavior towards the world around him was a protective measure to shield his family, especially his twin brother, from bullies and external dangers threatening to do harm.
but nothing makes more sense than vader voluntarily staying behind because he simply couldn't bear the thought of leaving his mother.
while i want to say this is for a very noble reason—and to some extent, it is—i must also acknowledge his choice to stay was not entirely selfless. even if qui-gon had extended the offer to train him as well, vader would have willingly sacrificed the prospect of a better life because the weight of abandoning his mother would have been too heavy a burden to bear.
anakin, too, was deeply attached to his mother—but he was still able to leave her behind, albeit with the hope of one day freeing his family from slavery.
i think this example already reveals a fundamental difference between the two brothers. vader’s struggles may hold a superficial resemblance to anakin’s, but the reality of their motivations and emotional resilience is far more complex.
WOULD VADER RESENT ANAKIN?
this is a difficult question to answer, and i say that mainly because by the time vader is an adult, he is too self-aware of his current circumstances to misdirect his anger/resentment towards his brother. at the same time, emotions can often defy reason, and he’s not only been trained but encouraged to give in to these negative feelings. so yes, i do think there are times he experiences irrational bouts of anger whenever he thinks of his brother and the life he seems to embody. however, i believe his emotions stem more from envy of his brother’s life than from genuine resentment towards him as a person.
the jedi of the prequel era are known for their strict discipline and emotional suppression, which, in some cases, reaches unhealthy levels, especially if mishandled — not saying this happens to all jedi, i’m saying this is the canonical explanation for jedi who are unable to release their feelings into the force. these neglected feelings will become an internalized conflict, something anakin deals with throughout his entire life — but it’s nothing compared to what vader endured growing up under sidious’s tutelage.
first off, i don’t believe for a second that sidious groomed vader in the same manner as anakin. to provide some insight into what i mean by that, i’m gonna just be frank about it: sidious was incomprehensibly cruel towards vader. why? because sidious had no incentive to show kindness. he already favored one of the twins significantly, so why extend that courtesy to the other?
besides, this touches on sidious’s knowledge-seeking nature. he relished in testing limits, especially if it yielded new insights, regardless of the cost—up to and including the subject’s life, as demonstrated with the zillo beast in TCW. sidious was unabashedly self-serving; his self-interest was absolute.
for this reason, i don’t see why i wouldn’t apply the same logic in regard to the twins. anakin, ostensibly nurtured by the jedi and under the guidance of the council, would thrive in his environment, becoming a celebrated hero during the clone wars. meanwhile, vader would suffer in the shadows, enduring physical and mental abuse by sidious. he would watch from afar as anakin garnered fame and admiration, all while biding his time on behalf of his master's grand plan.
sidious would absolutely use these points against vader by the way, and i don’t mean, “look at how accomplished and heroic your brother is,” because vader doesn’t give a flying fuck about his brother’s accomplishments. he’s more pissed that sidious would praise anakin over what he perceives as ‘nothing special’. sort of like, “well i can do that too but i don’t see you applauding me, you stupid old man wtf”
tbh, knowing that kinda makes it significantly worse for him, too. vader despises that he craves praise from sidious—his abuser, the man who enslaved him a second time—yet he can't help himself. it’s the child in him that wants to feel praise, to feel worthy of acknowledgment.
vader is acutely aware of sidious's tactics to provoke his temper, exploit his insecurities, and manipulate his feelings to foster genuine contempt for his brother. the rule of two dictates that only the strongest survives to become the true apprentice. however, having spent most of his life under sidious’s thumb, vader has grown far too perceptive of his master's manipulations to direct his negative feelings towards anakin.
overall, i want to say vader is catastrophically self-aware of his predicament; he understands he’s a pawn, but it’s easier to cling to the belief that he is a crucial asset, that sidious expects him to defeat his brother because a jedi is no match for a sith. but vader would sooner die than acknowledge that, and he’d rather die than slaughter anakin, his own flesh and blood, the last vestige of their late mother.
after all, the force hasn’t spared his brother. anakin, too, has been corrupted, brainwashed by the jedi to do their bidding.
vader's plan is to rectify this, to save his brother, once sidious is removed from the equation.
BONUS DISCO HC:
[10:26 PM] han solo for president: i thought of a really sad headcanon. what if vader still doesn't know how to read or write because sidious legit did not treat him like anything more than a tool/weapon/slave. like?? he might understand certain shapes mean certain letters, and certain sequences of letters mean XYZ ( exit / enter sign ) but outside of a superficial comprehension, i don't think he really knows anything??
and the only reason why his manner of speech might come off as 'refined' on the surface, especially in comparison to the way anakin speaks, is because sidious is a politician, therefore has a larger vocabulary pool.
when sidious kidnapped him, the kid only knew informal/colloquial huttese, basic, binary, and didn't know how to read or write. so that means he learned everything else through verbal communication and conjecture... and that's it
[10:32 PM] the future president’s son: i’m sobbing
thanks for reading!
